Donald Sutherland was a good man that could play any part in any kind of movie. I never saw a film with his name on it that I didn't like.
    He will be sorely missed.

I will always remember Donald Sutherland in the final scene of 1978's Invasion of the Body Snatchers where he reaches out, points to Nancy Cartwright's character, and made that ear piercing scream. That scene will haunt me forever. 1978's Invasion of the Body Snatchers is one of the few horror remakes that work & better than the original.

LoL. I was 7 when it was released. So it was my first memory of watching him in a movie.
That movie traumatized me! 😂 I was disturbed enough over the slimy pods that breathed, and my 7-year old brain was confused by the adult dialogue. And if seeing that dog that looked like its ass was shaved, and walking backwards wasn't bad enough, THAT SCREAM did me in with nightmares for awhile. 😂.
Because of this, I didn't like him as an actor for the longest time, until I was in my late 20s. LoL

He was one of the best actors in film history. He often was fully engrossed in his character. Every film he was in was made better because of him.
I hope he will rest in Paradise. Thanks for the memories.

Some years back, I had the immense pleasure of serving Donald Sutherland an espresso, when he suddenly appeared late one evening at the restaurant I ran. The restaurant was up the street from a theatre, which was holding a commeration of some sort, which he was there to attend. The next night, 2 minutes after exiting the restaurant, I passed him on the street. To my astonishment he acknowledged me, he remembered me from the previous night. He quipped something witty, I laughed, pleased at the at the attention. Shamefully, I have forgotten what he said, it's been many years. Apart from being a fabulous actor, he was a warm individual, a down to earth, really special person. R.I.P. Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heros, Mash, Don't Look Now, Klute, 1900, JFK, Eye of the Needle, and Start the Revolution Without Me.

All I've ever watched of Donald Sutherland was "Kelly's Heroes" & " The Dirty Dozen ". He was great in both of these. An absolute babe in "Kelly's Heros", although his role portrayed him to a bit of a lunatic. Absolute magic!!! Wish I'd seen more of his work. My condolences to his family. Certain that he shall remain well missed.

He was a terrible actor. He never looked like anything other than a guy trying to pretentiously play someone else. Great or even good actors get the viewer to forget who they are and see the character. In all of his many roles,, ,he was the same guy using some phony method acting that never worked.
