Cherish those moments with your parents. My mom is in comfort care and will pass away soon. What made me happy today was seeing the people who took care off my mom (from her assisted living home), come to the hospital to see my mom and tell her they loved her. Love that my mom had a impact on their lives too. I repeat, cherish the those moments with your parents!
100%. My mom is gone and my dad is declining. I feel like the time from when I 18 have been the best years with mom and dad. They were finished raising me and it changed into more of a friendship vibe.

Gosh I’m 37 and I can still remember that feeling of not wanting to leave my parents. My parents came for parents weekend, and my mom told me they had to leave early to get home for something and I burst into tears! I think it surprised my mom, and she quickly made plans to stay longer! In the end it’s a gift to have a family you miss!
Katie is so lucky her parents come and see her at school, my parents went to see my sister when she was away at college all to time. My parents never came to see me at college, and I was closer to them than my sister was.
It's just sad that people have to find/start negative comments. You are a wonderful beautiful family who enjoyed your NYE celebration in a very festive environment in a healthy normal and real way. I have officially done 3 quizes so far this semester. Which I made so B's out of. My instructors let them be open booked. Except I like a challenge so since the quizes are online at home. And the midterm and finals are proctored on school campus. I take my lap top to the kitchen table. Instead of using the desktop that's in my bedroom. That also contains all my school work. I go old fashion and run it all on my brain knowledge frankly I'm not sure I could ever do an open book. Because I'd probably confuse my self. What made me happy today which is Sat. It’s all exciting but leaving my parents was the hardest part since they are up north in DE and I’m now down here in FL. But hey, it’s time for new adventures and I’m in florida, at Disney, so I can’t complain too much lol. Plus I’ll see my parents in April for my 21st bday :)

I can tell you. They made sure they were in church and in service to others. They had them all in hobbies that promoted exercise for their bodies as well as their brains. They encouraged winning and doing their best, but also emphasized losing happens. They modeled and taught them when you lose you do so with grace and when you win you do so with humility. They welcomed their home to their friends as a safe haven and encouraged healthy friendships. They established traditions that were fun. They were blessed with extended family and nurtured those relationships through time and energy. They drove them to so many activities and spent so much quality time never complaining but embracing those moments. They modeled love through their own marriage. Hope that helps. It doesn't sound too hard but the truth is it is actually a huge commitment. Many adults sadly regret having kids. That may be more of a reflection on the lack of commitment and maturity in the person bringing a child into this world than the actual child. They treated the job of raising a child as the most important thing in their lives and this is the result.
