Dan Vasc should already been given an award for this rendition of Amazing Grace. I have heard so many artists sing this song , and none comes close to this . Dan Vasc , if I said he is amazing or phenomenal, it would be an understatement.

Hey Rosalie, you are the very first one of all reactions I watched so far who did not stop the song at all and I really appreciate that! I wish more people would do that, enjoy the song and then go through it again, analyzing and so on.

It was a journey - from like a man alone in a church repenting and by the end he feels the as you said the undeserved forgiveness and sings out like he has the full force of God inside his lungs and behind his back! Dan Vasc has excelled with this already beautiful hymn and given it new life. This rendition has blessed many people worldwide! He sings songs from all genres. He is classically trained and sings from metal to opera and everything in between. Believe me, his covers trump the originals. The last note was held for 24 seconds. Actually, Dan took a breath and started with "was blind.....etc" and didn't take another until the end! I counted (by a clock) 28 or 29 seconds!

I am 70 years old and am absolutely in love with this man and his talents! Geezo! 😮I really recommend reacting to his version of "Gesthsemane" from the musical Jesus Christ Superstar! It's a very difficult song to perform well, and Dan nails it - BIG TIME! ❤

I love that you’ve found Dan Vasc! I just discovered him a few months ago & he quickly became one of my favorite independent artists. He seems to be an awesome human, in addition to his incredible talent & skill. He is gifted with the ability to sing ANYTHING & make it better - yes, with his amazing voice - but also in large part due to the way he conveys the emotional experience of music, the thing which (imho) makes a performance into true art. He can reach right into your soul & connect on this emotional level that binds us all.
I’d love to see you react to anything of his, for that reason. But bc of who you are- I’d highly recommend his performance of Gethsemane. It’s breathtaking.
Dan is so good, it’s impossible to pick favorites- but also fantastic are his covers of Evanescence (“Bring me to Life” shows his range really well.) And Queen (“Bohemian Rhapsody” is awesome & I LOVE his take on “The Show Must Go On.”) Mulan, Skid Row, Phantom of the Opera, Bon Jovi, Nessun Dorma - not kidding, I’ve never seen a singer with such a vast range both vocally & artistically.
I also admire the fact that he has shared his journey of working toward his dream. You can see how far he has come & it’s inspiring to anyone who has a dream & is willing to work for it! I’m glad he’s getting more recognition for his hard work, talent & amazing skills. Thank you for your work & your beautiful spirit, Rosalie!

Hi Rosalie, That harmonica he played his father gave to him when he was a kid, His dad recently passed away and Dan sang this song at his funeral, So this song means alot to Dan thats why he sang it with so much passion. He is the Angelina Jordan of breath control. Im having this played at my funeral for sure along with elvis singing If I can dream two great send off songs, Amazing.I tear up everytime I hear it cuz it was my moms favorite song I had played at her funeral. I've listened to Dan sing Amazing Grace probably dozens of times now. His voice is, to me anyway, almost addictive. I can't carry a single note. I see anyone who is capable of singing like this as truly having a gift from God. I now believe that this is how Amazing Grace should be sung. I really enjoyed your reaction. Be well.

Dan Vasc has a God given talent that he has perfected into what it is today. He sang this song the way it was MEANT to be sung with such respect, emotion & with a POWERFUL impact. I FELT the presence of GOD!!! This is the absolute very BEST version of Amazing Grace that I've EVER heard in my ENTIRE life & I'm old (LOL). He does Sound of Silence as well! I'm so grateful you reacted to this. I've shared on a few videos my story. A couple months ago, I was in a very dark place and every day was a struggle. Somehow, I ended up on TH-cam and this came up as a suggestion. Let me tell you, I was sobbing uncontrollably by the end of the song. I had never felt so seen as the flawed human I am who is doing her best to make it to the next day. I'm not religious, but I felt like God had hugged my heart and filled me with a glimmer of hope. I now listen to all of Dan's stuff on here and Spotify and it's been a wonderful journey. Dan saved my life and I'll be forever grateful. As Dan says, have an epic day.

Great reaction, and wonderful insight afterwards. As a fan of Dan Vasc before he recorded this, he told us, his fans, that he was going to do this, and you might be interested to know WHY he recorded this.
Dan is a Christian, and loves the Christian holidays. However, he felt that the Easter holiday had fallen out of favor around the world and wanted to bring some attention to it again through his gift of music. He released this on Good Friday 2023.

I listen to this at least once a day - love new reactions such as yours. You may like to check out 'Gethsemane' from the musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar' - his portrayal is outstanding. Some reactions have pointed out it isn't 'biblically correct' but it's from a musical and Dan's rendition is the best I've ever seen & heard!
Another message of this song is Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. Loved this video and God’s Grace truly is amazing. Eternity is forever, we need to be prepared to stand before God before it’s too late. Great video!

Dan is a Christian. His Harmonica that he played in the song was a gift from his father whom he and a younger brother lost at just 15 to cancer. He suffers from depression due to this tragic childhood. He is a blessing to all of us what a singer he is and truly good man.

The song is also the National Anthem of the Cherokee. Different lyrics. Rita Coolidge former wife of kris kristofferson is also cherokee and her rendition of the Cherokee version is haunting. I attended a dinner in San Diego where she sung it in her native language.

He released this Spiritual on Good Friday (this year, as I read from other comments). The use of his harmonica, which was a gift given to him by his beloved late father when he was a child, lends a Celtic feel to his rendition. I live (and attend) down the block from a beautiful Roman Catholic Church (whose bells are ringing right now). We often hear this beautiful Hymn played on Bagpipes during Irish/American funerals. Dan's harp break reminded me of that. If you visit his page, he does a"The Sound Of Silence" cover, much like Disturbed's. This Hymn is the unofficial "anthem'" for recovering alcoholics/addicts. Whether a member of AA or NA is religious or not, it is the lyric that matters. We have a slogan, "There but for the grace of God, go I"...Blessings. You now have a new subscriber.

Dich sprachlos und so konzentriert bis zum Ende eines Liedes zu erleben, ist selten 🤣.
Ich habe Dan auch erst vor gut einem Monat (mit diesem Stück) entdeckt und mir seither schon einige seiner Cover/Lieder angesehen. Man merkt dabei sehr schnell, dass er eine klassische Gesangsausbildung hatte (kann man im Internet/auf seiner Seite nachlesen). Er hat auf seiner Seite auch einige sehr interessante Duette, die den Liedern ein ganz neues (aktuelles) Gesicht geben aber eben auch auch ganz klassische Gesangsstücke.
