    I adore that dragon shirt! You have a special taste and I like that. I don't like branded clothes mainly because people rate people based on it. And that makes me sick. That's why I prefer to buy (mostly bands) merch, which comes to me as a better alternative to my own speech.

    Really love your videos and your second hand plate collection, but I just wanted to let you know that not all plate are food safe.
    I've been getting into pottery lately and learnt that it has to do with the glaze. So to test a glaze's acid resistance, squeeze a lemon wedge onto a glazed surface. Any changes in the glaze color indicate that acids from foods can leach materials from the glaze, and that it is not food safe. :)

    My state is doing a soft reopen. While doing my weekly grocery shop, I saw that my favorite thrift store is open and not going to lie, I am excited. I’m still practicing social distancing and wearing my mask, but I’ve made plans to go tomorrow. It was honestly what I missed the most while everything was closed. I was fortunate enough that my normal grocers were open.

    With the plates and vases you can look at the bottom and sometimes there will be something like microwave save and then you know its a newer product but if it has a number or sometimes it has a number and says west germany then you know its a good old one. So my tip look at the bottom! :)

    just wanted to say that some clay & glazes can release harmful substances into food, especially when in contact with heat & acid, so you might wanna test the decorative plate just in case since it’s not made specifically for food. i heard you can put a lemon/some lemon juice on it & leave it there overnight & if there’s no discoloring of the glaze then it should be fine, but if there is discoloring that means something in the glaze or clay reacted with the acid & it might be a good idea to not use it for food!

    Thrifted maybe once this year but had other people thrift for me too, LOL (they were travelling and wanted to pick me up some things, and were gracious enough to look out for things for me while they were thrifting there).
    I didn't think much of that black bodice top until you showed the several ways it could be styled, and now I'm shook at how useable it is! Can be mixed into outfits so well! Great find. Also loving the dragon shirt's cut and print. Very va-va-voom.

    Biggest thrifting regret ever... I once saw a stainless steel popsicle holder the same as yours in a thrift store and I talked myself out of buying it. What was I thinking? (Apparently, I wasn’t). So, of course, every time I see your popsicle maker on my screen I remind myself to not be quite so “thrifty” next time, and just buy the dang thing if it seems right for me. PS - I just love homemade popsicles and I recently found a recipe for Vegan fudgsicles... can’t wait to make those this summer..

    Still binge watching your older programs.. I love thrift stores its very rare that I buy clothing new I can't even remember the last time I bought clothes new??? Several years other than undies. Where I shop most shirts or tshirts are 99 cents to $1.99. Pants same pricing, there is so many clothing in just this one store and it's like that all over our city thousands and thousands of pieces of clothing not kidding in the stores.. there is no reason to buy a brand new piece of clothing. I truly wish there were companies here that made things like quilts and comforters out of recycled clothing if the clothes don't sell they put them in a compacter and get rid of them. At one time years back they would sell to the public by the pound like 39 cents a pound. Things like jogging jackets and jogging pants (sweatpants) could be cut up and used for cleaning cloths as a example that's what I do with husbands old wore out ones. Blouses and Mens shirts could be cut in to squares and sewed in to making quilts instead of having them mass produced overseas and shipped here. I actually made a couch throw years ago with strips of old blue jeans. Anna In Ohio.

    Love your content!!! Love from Mexico!! Just one thing I wanted to mention, make sure the plates you are using are safe. The thing with decor plates is that sometimes when they are burned at low temperatures, the glazes have a led base, therefore is toxic to eat from them. That is more uncommon for high temperature ceramic bodies. Just make sure the plates you are eating from are safe for that.

    The stockings one is interesting, I've never seen them in a thrift store in the US but we also don't wear stockings often (I was just forced to once for middle school band and will never again). I am not sure if they are even allowed to be sold, they do kinda seem like something that would be frowned upon getting second hand. Good that you can since you presumably wear them.

    • @snoozleblob
      @snoozleblob 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can definitely make a fantastic capsule wardrobe with second hand clothes! I have a roughly seasonal-based capsule that is mostly thrifted items and it works quite well for me. If you feel daunted by the monochrome minimalist style capsules, I'd highly HIGHLY recommend you check out Daria Andronescu's YT channel as she is a wardrobe styler and has many examples of colourful capsule wardrobes that have character and are clearly more uniquely molded to individual tastes beyond just sleek-urban-minimal (which is a totally okay wardrobe taste to have and my own capsule set up leans into that side, but I know many people are put off my capsule wardrobes cause they think they have to be that "boring").

    I I have always been of the mindset that thrifting is better for the earth and better because it doesn't promote exploitive companies. However, I recently saw a few articles discussing how thrifting is a privilege because many people from lower income households do not have the time or energy after working multiple jobs to thrift (because it often takes a fair amount of digging to find the good stuff). I also read that (for even more extreme cases) privileged people taking quality items from second hand stores takes it away from the people who can only afford to buy from these stores. Do you have any thoughts on this?

    Hi Gittemary. Im sorry to say that those orange high heels have totally the wrong heel placement. Heels should never be that far back, but more in the center under the back of your foot. You can find YT videos about correct heel placement. 🙂 They will feel so uncomfortable because your weight of the foot will be forward, squeezing you foot instead of a correct support under your heel.
