Seeing the Titanic wreck is absolutely haunting.
And what gets me is, she wasn't even a month old when she sank
If seeing it on TH-cam, in the comfort of our homes, is scary enough, then why would other people be prepared to pay a quarter of a million dollars to go down into the ocean to see it? What's so exciting about a cursed ship that people would literally sink to see it?
How is this haunting?
@@mrsantoro8306 Its haunting cause your looking at this ship knowing people once were there and died here. Same like when you go in a old house you can sense that presense.
I hate that we're losing what's left of the Titanic at such an alarming rate but I'm thankful that we found her when we did and have been able to get so much footage over the (almost) four decades since she was discovered. It's unfortunate to see her starting to become one with the sea floor and I know there's a lot of controversy over bringing artifacts back up to the surface, but I'm glad we have because eventually it will be all we have left.

"Metal eating bacteria." Ok. I've literally heard it all now.
1. The movie was released in December 1997 so where people are getting February 2023 as the 25th anniversary is puzzling.
2. A decent amount of this footage was seen in a documentary A&E released in 1994 called Titanic: The Complete Story which was a 4 hour documentary featuring 2 parts: Titanic: Death of a Dream and Titanic: The Legend Lives On.
I saw most of the footage on the discovery of the titanic vhs tape as well. just because the tik tok generation didn’t see it doesn’t mean it hasn’t been seen. ridiculous isn’t it
Because of Avatar 2. It was just released and James Cameron wanted to tap on profits of the hype.

It’s a graveyard not a tourist attraction for the wealthy. 😢 Just let them rest in peace.
Not being combative, but I’ve never understood this common comment. It’s not like the bodies are still there. People die in hospitals everyday, but no one thinks of them as a graveyard. The titanic is just a steel box at this point. Nothing more.
I see it as a grave yard. People die in hospitals but family can still claim the body and bring their loved one to a cemetery or cremate them. People died inside the Titanic and were not claimed. It’s like a mass grave. What I can’t understand is why someone would make a tragedy into a tourist attraction.

It was not 1986 lady it was discovered In 1985, it took Robert Ballard eight days to find the R.M.S. Titanic around 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. For more than 70 years, the location of the liner's wreckage - about 12,600 feet below the ocean's surface - had been a mystery since the "unsinkable" ship struck an iceberg late in the evening of April 14, 1912.
1,500 died near Newfoundland in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 14th and 15th of 1912.
Most of them were immigrants in 3rd class.

I kinda hope, once the wreck has diminished to almost level, that someone lifts the bottom to see the actual ice berg damage. Of course, I’m assuming that part will last longer because it’s buried.
What they'll do seeing the damage thats been already done and doesn't bother us human history.
The journey to the Titanic is long and arduous.

While interesting, I don't get the fascination with seeing the wreckage now. We've seen it, know the story, it's a decaying ship that sank and tragically killed a lot of people. They always speak of the mysteries...what's the mystery?
They also found on that dive, the on board pools still had water in them ! 😮
That is pretty haunting.
The fact 4 people are trapped in a submarine next to or in this monstrosity makes me sick😖😖

the monstrosity is that submersible (not a submarine), off the shelf piece of junk.

There is a real element of hubris for the 5 people that decided to go on the Titan. By all accounts the Titan was an accident just waiting to happen. Constant mechanical issues, system failures, communication problems...
There was an element of hubris in the Titanic as well. But yeah - a WAY bigger risk getting on that submersive vs. boarding the Titanic. Those 5 people knew that, or should have. I sorta feel bad for the one billionaire's son. All of them I suppose, but especially the young man.
She had no mechanical issues, no system failures, and no communications problem. She had an accident.

The fact they called her a ‘sea liner’ kills me inside.
It was indeed an Ocean Liner. Weather it kills you on the inside or not, the designers could care less as it was classified as such. What makes cruise ships different is the fact they carry as much people as possible and are generally slower, but nowadays cruise ships have both attributes. its more for historical purposes.
@@MarcABrown-tt1fpwhat I’m referring to is that they called her a ‘sea liner’ not an ocean liner. If they’re going to make a video about it, they need to use the correct terminology.
