    I am disgusted with some of the comments on this video. These people just had their lives totally ruined by a natural disaster that is beyond their control and you guys decided to make fun or criticize them. How would you feel if you were in their position? Would you like it if people make fun of you or call you stupid?

      Muhammad Firdaus For some people, a prayer has been answered. These are the same people who persecuted Muslims and caused Muslims to starve. So trust me when I tell you that Allah's Justice was sought against St. Thomas. YOU need to consider who these people hurt. They are not innocent people.

      Thank you, for being so kind. I was a victim of Irma, it was terrifying. I cried and thought I was going to die. I contacted my friends and told them. I might die and wished all my friends goodbye. I just remembered walking out and seeing all the leaves on the trees were gone. It was hot, sad, depressing and devastating.

    Spoke to a guy from FEMA through my job earlier this week and he was getting ready to deploy to the VI but said they have no way to get onto the islands due to no clear place to land. He said they are trying to get in by boat. He said he felt helpless to do anything until they could get onto the island.

    It's insane how many Americans have stopped donating because they're saying Irma was all "hype". The world does not revolve around America. There are still people in dire situations so do not stop donating just redirect your efforts to those in the islands who lost their family and their homes.

      Bookworm51485 trust me, the Virgin Islands recovered very well from the hurricane. Some of these people were very scarred but I just took some time. I was wondering why this lady was saying no help came. We ( national guard) was activated a couple days after to help fema with recovery. My and my fellow soldiers homes were affected a couple of weeks later on St. Croix by hurricane maria. We were hit about as hard as St. Thomas was by Maria. Power was restored to almost the entire island in a few months. Some areas are still being restored. But the VI actually benefited in some ways from these storms in the form of federal assistance.

  • @saxyvi
    @saxyvi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    MOST homes are made with steel reinforced concrete and concrete block walls. The roofs are usually made of wood. Most of the homes that were damaged or destroyed SURVIVED 140 mph Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and 115 mph Hurricane Marilyn in 1995. Homes built after that mostly remained intact; they were built to the new building codes that required homes to withstand winds of 145 mph. Homes built after Irma will have to withstand winds of 165 mph.

      For one, he said it was his 3rd hurricane in the area and it was by far the strongest. usually the huts survived without a problem.
      For another, it's tradition in America to build wooden structures in hurricane threatened areas with chances of flooding. It's called integration if others emulate that.

    • @liquidminds
      @liquidminds 7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Daniel Solano maybe someone should have given those people the education to make that decision on their own, instead of judging them later.
      Not paying people. Not giving them education. Then claiming they are poor, uneducated and should not reproduce.. that's pretty low.

    • @PhatAssObese
      @PhatAssObese 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      liquidminds It is common sense that Penises that go in Vaginas make babies . Education is necessary but if someone doesn't know how to tie a shoe, should there be a semester class on how to tie a shoe. These people are adults, although some are young.
      i never said they shouldn't reproduce but i do believe it is a form of child abuse if you cannot afford a childs needs.

    • @liquidminds
      @liquidminds 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Daniel Solano It's also common sense, that "making babies" is not the only important issue about sexuality. If it was, we'd go into centers that test our DNA to find the perfect mate for us to have the optimal amount of babies with.
      We are humans. Sex is also fun. Love is about emotions and trust. It should be common sense that emotional love, the desire to have sex for fun, the desire to have children with and the desire to form a living community, do not necessarily have to be only one person all together, as much as it should be common sense that picking the ability to have or not have children, out of all the properties we could value in humans, should not be the only one we think that matters.
      If the ability to make babies was all that mattered, we'd have a 3rd gender that includes infertile men and women ...
      But I'm sure mommy and daddy told you that's how it is. Changing your world-view into considering that they might have told you the same BS that they got told as a kid, is too much to ask I guess...

      Yo, that ain't funny. I'm from St.John and was there when Irma and Maria passed through. Buildings that I have known since childhood were either completely destroyed or rendered unsafe to live in. All trees on the island were barren afterward, and we didn't get power until late November. St.John itself was almost completely isolated because there were sunken boats in the harbor, and we only had one actual helipad on the island. I know many whose homes are still unfit to be lived in but are because they have nowhere else to really go. All the things they said were 100% true, even if time has passed its not cool to make jokes about it.
