Your lucky to have a step mom like that my step mom has been in my life since I was like 3 and till this day she treats me just like a step child! Even after my mom passed away...so trust me your lucky, then again she just sounds like a good woman

TheOnly MrsHiggins I agree 100% I’m so glad my mom wasn’t the jealous messy type. My mom would even care if we called her mom. My mom knew the role she played in my life and was very secure. It’s really sad.
True, but ALL step-parents are not good. There are some, who abuse, and neglect children. I had a good stepmother, I believed, because she never abused me, talked down on me, or made me feel out of place, but when my father and her divorced, she cut all communication with me. I tried to contact her, and all I received was a cold welcoming. It was disheartening. I knew her since I was 2 or 3, and now I'm an adult with children of my own. My mom never stopped our relationship, but encouraged it. I was and still heartbroken. This put a wedge between my sister and I as well. Yes, step parents can be a great addition, but some aren't.🙏
