Additional note for 5.3 and above for the Geometry Collection step: You will also need to assign a material to the internal faces (in 5.2 and below this is done when first creating the Geometry Collection). You can do this as follows: -In the fracture mode, select all the pieces of your GC (Select All button) -Under the Utilities tab, open the Material dialog -Click ‘Add material slot’ -Select your material for your new slot -Under ‘Assign Material’ select the index of the new slot in the dropdown (ie if your GC had only one material before, the new slot would be Index 1) -Click ‘Assign Materials’ ensuring that ‘Only Internal Faces’ is selected from the dropdown Side note: at 03:54 unchecking 'show bone colors' in the details tab will solve my problem, I forgot about that and someone reminded me right after I recorded :)))
This looks great! Maybe you already are able to do this, but one suggestion I have is to make some way to randomize which tiles are anchored from a set. That way if someone went and completely destroyed 5 walls in a row you don't see the exact same shape left standing.
Would love to see more tutorials on optimizing for performance. for example, showing us how to not do any physics simulation, but simply make the fractured pieces disappear on hit and emit particles in place of actual fractured geo with collisions an all that. Also more info on multiplayer and replication would be great
Good stuff! Thanks. Only feedback I have is that the high screen resolution and youtube compression often makes the text difficult to read. 4K stream is cleaner but is sadly extremely slow for me.
AMAZZING! I'm relatively new to unreal and i mostly use it for vfx. Would you consider doing a tutorial outlining how to use it for sequencer and movie render queue?
Got this pack recently and I love it, it is so easy to use and simply to setup thanks to your video! I got to ask, I got several wooden objects I want to break using your asset, and I noticed that the fracturing of your wooden table and wall look pretty realistic compared to the fracturing look I've done so far. Is there any chance you could let me know what settings you used to get those results? I really appreciate it!
Amazing work, is there anyway we could simulate this in level sequencer for creating animation, if you could make a tutorial on that would be highly appreciated?
This is great. Thanks for the detailed guide on how to fracture. My problem now is this entire geocollection breaks when any piece is hit. Any idea how to fix that?
Awesome looking kit. How do you utilize this kit with melee items like swords, axes. So far only bullets have been used to showcase. A tutorial perhaps?
Hi, will you be able to trigger the destruction in a certain way, like if you go under a bridge it collapses on top of you? This would be really useful to me right now as there isn’t really a way currently to trigger chaos destruction for gameplay in ue5.
Hey So so close to buying this, love it! But any Idea why Add internal materials is not showing in ue5.3 and higher? I don't get that option when making the collection.
I've been having a hard time implementing this into my game, I was able to get my grenades to work fine, but not my bullets just wondering where I should be looking in blueprint I have a third person game FYI. So I have my own bp_gun
Hi sorry about this! I've made a note for future tutorials and might re-record this one. There is also a text version of this tutorial in the documentation here: docs.google.com/document/d/1scXfTOvlVwgoGYKkKPK7uhEqy5m3praOwlDyqKylPTA/edit?usp=sharing
Lucen is on hold indefinitely at the moment sadly. I hope to revisit it in future, but I have been working on a different game for quite a while which is still under wraps. Hoping to share more on it soon.
Can you do a tutorial on how to set up the weapon for any weapon (specifically a sword) please! I don't mind waiting, but on a side note, if we purchased this before such a tutorial, do you offer support to help integrate into a project?

How does this work with projectiles in other projects when it's migrated?
A tutorial on proper integration into existing projects would be swesome.
I struggle implementing everything proper. Nice Kit though.
Were you able to merge this kit to another project?
Somewhat. Migrated it and then you have to use a force field on your impact mesh (bullet). But some things still don't work completely.@@VeerSoftworks
I want to use this in my project, I would appreciate if you prepare an integration tutorial.

ESPECIALLY FOR VR

Hi, very nice Toolkit! Can you do a Tutorial with the sequencer?
Holy crap this is amazing.
Amazing work, is there anyway we could simulate this in level sequencer for creating animation, if you could make a tutorial on that would be highly appreciated?
Will it work Multiplayer? Will it work with good fps on mobile ?

You can Shift+B with the Geometry Collection selected, two switch between normal and fractured view.
I'm using this with a gaem centered around telekinesis, how do i lower the health of the breakable items since i won't be using bullets to break them
Is it possible to use this with say a character to destroy objects when rolling? Any hints?
What would the challenges be to implement this in multiplayer?

do you have a demo would love to try this out

You really should update this tutorial.
Third Person Version be awesome!
Hey I was just wondering is it possible to make a fully destructible building with this tool kit?
The preview material can be unticked in details, show bone color = false
How do I transfer it to my project?
does this kit offer any kind of performance settings that are not easily changeable in the base engine?
I'm confused as to what the kit actually does. You just made a destructible object from scratch which can be done in-engine.
Hello
Good tutorial, you could make the Unreal Engine interface a little larger to follow the tutorial well, greetings

Will you continue working on Lucen?
Still waiting for Lucen, after all these years, sad to know it's now on hold...
Are you still working on Lucen?
Lucen is on hold indefinitely at the moment sadly. I hope to revisit it in future, but I have been working on a different game for quite a while which is still under wraps. Hoping to share more on it soon.
@KrisLucenDev I hope you do revisit Lucen at some point. Can't wait to hear about the next game you're working on though.
Lucen?
