Nice work. Looks like someone added extra jacking braces to the inner sill? It's much harder to repair someone else's botch jobs than it is to repair honest original rust. I bought my MG "fully restored" and have spent the last three years cutting out all the previous botch jobs.
+johnt The owner of the car paid to have the rocker panels and the jacking braces replaced. But the person doing the work obviously did not have the necessary skills to do a very good repair....I started posting some of these videos for the purpose informing the general public to be careful. Not all company's are doing good work. Normally, I would explain to people that buying a finished car is cheaper than paying to have a car restored..But I also recommend to people to have the vehicle inspected by a professional.
I was not about ready to accept the crappy work done by the previous shop. I do not mind taking on project started by other businesses but the work better be something I am willing to put my name on. Believe me the castle rail was fixed.
I agree. I hate shoddy work. I think you did a good job. I rebuilt a 1974 B much worse than this one. I cut out and replaced everything. They can be a tricky car as you know.
all cars can be tricky, each in their own way. Most of my experience is American muscle cars, but since going into business I have had the opportunity to work on a few mg's, one Porsche 911, plus others. Their is a lot to learn. Then you have to contend with poor work. That makes my job a great deal more difficult. THanks for posting.
All panels are available, buy the new Heritage MG panel & just cut out & re weld to good metal. It's mono chassis. Any new metal is better & stronger than 1963 metal.
Actual restoration, no TV drama. What's not to like?
Nice work.

You need to fit a new castle rail mate
