Thanks, I like your workflow starting darkening the picture and using masks to make the adjustments, exposure, white balance, and toning, very simple and effective way.
Thanks Oscar. It’s a useful way to draw attention to the subject and tone down the distractions
Hi Vincent - I've just discovered your channel and have subscribed. I've watched 5 or 6 of your tutorials and really like you're editing style. I particularly like the way you bounce back and forth between global adjustments and masks. I don't typically do that - but I can now see the advantages of that approach. Thanks for the tips and keep up the great work. Cheers.
Many thanks Alan. Welcome aboard! It’s great to get your feedback as the channel has only been up and running for a short time
I love it good job keep going.
Hey Vincent .... you did a amazing job ... on this picture ... awesome ...
Keep an eye on the channel Eddy! Lots more to come 🙂
Wow! You make it seem so easy! I hate you! Lol
Thank you. The image is exquisite.
Thanks Erik! The more images you edit, the easier it gets 🙂 I usually start out with the finished look that I want in mind and then try to figure out what tools I need to use in order to get there
Nice edit and beautiful sunrise indeed. I think the water wave near the bottom could have formed a nice foreground if it received a little bit of exposure attention? Nice work Vincent, keep it up!
Thanks David. I think you could be right. I'll have to revisit it!
Always interesting to see different editing styles. Mine has certainly changed over time ! My critique: Cropping out the wave foam in the foreground made it less interesting. Overall a little too dark and too much yellow for my taste. I think I might have tried a linear filter to the foreground to add a golden cast. A bit drab overall, I would try adding blue to the sky possibly. I would have tried 'tone spliting' to see if that adds something. I find that adding a touch of red or pink in the highlights (tone spliting) often works really well on sky photos. Thanks for sharing !
Agreed on your first point. I would have liked the chance to experiment with the crop further, bringing back the foreground and maybe removing some of the featureless dark cloud in the upper left.
