Yes Mr market has voted that in this period I'm wrong and I've missed out on a 20% run up. It is not easy putting opinions out there, some of which will be right and some will be wrong.
Today in this video, I'd highlight that the research that I've done before concluding on my analysis already factored in what some of the points highlighted in comments

as DBS climbs, you will get it right one day. My take is if you want to buy later, what the price level drop you are looking. And see it makes sense for everyone. If is just minor correction, that amount maybe too small compared to the bonus shares missed, high dividend and the latest results.

DBS reported very strong growth in the Q1 2024 quarter. Especially wealth management fees grew 45% year on year. This is primarily due to the geo political tension. This tension bodes well for Singapore banks. My view is the wealth management growth will more than offset the potential drop in NIM. In addition, the US interest rates are expected to stay higher for longer. Hence the NIM compression might not be as big a factor in the coming quarters. Currently, DBS stock price is at historical high.
However, even at current stock price, the projected dividend yield is still at 6%, which is great for a company like DBS. Personally, I have already built up a large position of DBS as part of my retirement income portfolio and I'm happy to add more even at current price as more funds become available.

Hi.. saw your response… Just want to say something here…
No need to be bothered with people who have not grow up yet…
I believe your channel is for people who can be adult and can behave like one… who can take responsibility for own action instead of pushing blame to others for their loss!
I just want to assure you that what you have been doing is valuable. I watch your content not because I wanted to have an easy way out of getting stock tips. I valued your content because you have put across a systematic chain of thoughts as to why or how you derive a decision which you will take action. Your chain of thoughts gives insights which offers many times perspective I have not considered. And other times ideas for me to find out deeper. This is value and character!!
I think u just have to ignore children who do not know how to behave so as not to feed/ fuel that tantrum they throw so they get rewarded from seeing your response.
You are doing a great job so far… keep it coming… we need people who can explain and articulate their chain of thoughts not people who can say I am right.. and after your articulation, how I take it from there forward is my responsibility.. not yours to bear!! Cheers!

DBS broke 2 years consolidation in March, and technically is very bullish after retracing back to consolidation range and bounced back off higher in early April. I missed that retracement to add, but definitely also won't add now. Fundamentally, it's overvalued, and there's possible some profit taking happening right now, so waiting for it to correct more before considering adding.

    From ST opinion 7/5/2024
    By Ravi Velloor
In 2015, DBS was 46th for return on equity (ROE) - 11.2 per cent - among the world's Top 100 banks.
At the end of 2023, it had jumped to No. 7 on this measure, with an ROE of 18 per cent. This outperformance was NOT on account of NIM, or net interest margin, BUT structural improvements and a soaring deposit franchise led by digital capabilities. High-return businesses such as wealth management and global transaction services also contributed.

  • @yjc5882
    @yjc5882 หลายเดือนก่อน

Maybe you are right. I don't care how much does it cost now? Coz I sold all shares at mid of March and held cash till beginning of May meaning I don't have any transaction in 1 and half months, so I missed out of cash dividends and bonus shares as well as coming cash dividends, but I have taken the profit by mid of Mar already. By beginning of May, I started to trade US market as some good stock with attractive price and got profit already.

Somehow quite a number of people don’t realise that it’s possible to be both bearish and bullish on a stock at the same time. For example, bearish short term on a stock that’s on a long term secular growth trend. And it’s tough to make short term guesses on a counter due to the myriad of macro possibilities. But what’s controllable is from a bottom up approach: buy when valuations are favourable and trim when things are frothy and sentiments are rich. Investment is all about weighing the risk versus rewards. Heads we win, tails we don’t lose much (or better still, win less).

  • @makwoon3635

Yes, yes! I saw a few comments in other people's videos that you were being blamed for causing them to miss the boat for DBS which not only appreciated quite a bit but also giving out attractive dividends plus a share split wor! Those who watched AK's video saw that he again bought some more when DBS was $31.80 gained confidence and also bought. Huat liao le lor!😂😂

    • @Jerry-Ling

A minor correction, a share split is when the ENTIRE shares of the company are split into two each. Take for example , if a company has 2 billion shares in the market, after the stock split, there would be 4 billion shares in the market. In the case of DBS, its more like scrip dividends where DBS pays the extra bonus to shareholders in the form of 1-for-10 bonus issue.

Banks are cyclical. Just look at their share prices weekly candles and monthly candles over the last decade or two. Local banks are on a long term secular uptrend but there are indeed cycles with them. I’m a big holder of DBS shares and I am waiting for the correction patiently to open my war chest.
