heyyo that tunnel flythrough was pure pleasure, would be neat if you could keep it flooded at the perfect height for beavers to walk through for the wet beaver perk. thanks for the entertainment, still crossing my fingers for ep 69. the city is a work of art
If anyone's wondering why the tunnel exists, here's the story: Many hundreds of cycles ago while collecting logs in the forest two beavers were collecting logs in the forest. He from the Skye Beavers and her from Little Ywon. Their paths crossed and they got to know each other. And soon they fell in love. However, tragedy would befall them, as Little Ywon and the Sky Beavers went to war, and they were forbidden from seeing each other. He hid his sorrow sitting at the bottom of the great storage basements. And she hid hers walking up the river to the base of the great fortified dam. Each were struck with an idea of tunneling under the water to steal their way unseen to see their lover. And so they dug. And imagine their surprise and joy when, guided by the great Mouse Curser in the Skye their tunnels met. They survived the war, and their story became a song of unity and togetherness amongst beaver-kind. And to this day whenever using the tunnel the beavers sing to themselves "Two lovers, forbidden from one another. A war divides their little. Secret tunnel, secret tunnel, built a path to bring them together" etc...
"you can't put terrain on anything but terrain, Dave" I cracked up hard... thanks Skye... years and years of watching your content and every new episode is the best episode
Let's go! Great job on the tunnel! Seamless execution!! Any plans on doing the back door entrance for the tunnel? ; ) ps thank you so much for hearing out my suggestion! It really made my day today!
I agree and said pretty much the same thing, it would be so cool if the tunnel ran thru/under the entire dam complex. Great idea you gave Sky, it made for some excellent content and has given me ideas for my own play thru once I start. Take care and God Bless...
Dear Skye... Awesome as always! loving the tunnel. Have you considered moving the wheat fields across the way annd turning the entrance into a park area? Also those little 1 high tiles behind the fountain of joy are calling out for some lamps. Jughead and Veronica seem to be missing their lamps too, maybe a small decorating sessions in the near future?
And another one as I'm watching. It's actually very good that you flooded the tunnel. Beavers will love it and you still can add such feature to the design
Dear Skye, Reinforced platforms would be a good addition, like a shit tone for metal and treated plannks! It should hold terrain! Maybe passed in to the defs? Great series! Blue
I'm going to have to try a tunnel project for my current playthrough at some point. Getting all of that to go right with existing infrastructure above it is genuinely impressive. Well done!
Darn it Skye, now I've got this crazy idea for a beaver habitat in the middle of a lake that is only accessible by a tunnel, so all the beavers have to go through the tunnel on their way to work every day. And of course all the storage would have to be hidden under the houses. I wonder what map would be best for attempting such a thing? Might be custom map time.
@@MartysRandomStuff the craters map has a good section for this I think? On the far side there's almost a bowl like shape you can seal off and turn into a massive reservoir. Should have enough space I'm sure.
The tunnel idea was pretty cool. What about connecting it to thunderdome in the future. The next project i wish to see is the rebuilt of pondletts. You build it with levees but it just looks bad. Make it look better somehow? My idea was to turn off the sluce under the dam and connect the pondletts to the main channel. Then, let the waterfall (from pondletts) feed the channel. We might need to supplement the water using the sluce.
Seeing your storage build reminded me of a challenge idea based on Megacity One from Judge Dredd. You can only build districts in a 15x15 square, as high and low as you want. But all buildings that beavers work or house in must be within that square, except for pumps and gatherer flags.
Good thing to add under dams is also the ground-level storage. Or if you dig down - you probably can even fit extra storage for water and other resources, saving a lot of space and sometimes also walking distance for the beavers.
I've been hoping we'll get true tunnel tech for a while - as in, the ability to dig passages through terrain - so I got very excited when I saw the video title, thinking there was an new update. But, this is a cool idea in the mean time!
Dear Skye, I really appreciate your Videos and the Tunnel. But maybe you could flood the Tunnel with a fluid dump to gain some wet beaver wellbeing points
Hmm, all though I would very much like to see the areas of "Little One" & "Big One" get some love, (No dirty joke intended). I wonder is it possible to have the tunnel exit out the back side of the dam as well, going under the emergency side to "Archie and the other two cities"? Nothing to elaborate but a way in which the tunnel could run under the entire dam complex? Just a little more busy work before or while working on the rest of the map. Thank you for the hours of entertainment this series has given us. Take care and God Bless...
With regards to the lost beehives; you could put them back in with some of their area over the river a bit. No stings for walking beavers and faster aquatic plant growth. Double benefit. Please disregard this. Future Skye you care if it. Apparently I'm the lemon this evening.😂
Dear Sky! Have you looked at remaking the pondettes out of dirt instead of the levees that you call so ugly? Would be cool to have just the slice surrounded by earth!
Very agile of you to give the beavers a critical path to sprint to the warehouse zone! And those few waterfalls... ah they are a thing of the past now. You were a project manager in a past life. Would almost think you are really a civil engineer now ;)
I will just put an idea. For the structures from overhangs you can build somethings under the first tile. Some decorations for wellbeing might fit there, but there might be some more interresting ideas for those spaces
Love the tunnel it also makes storing the foods faster. Love watching your videos they are a highlight of my day. And as for what to do next i think the big one and little one area.
Well... Only one way this can end. The bots also want a tunnel from Scrapbot city to the Central Mass Storage. They will revolt if you don't give them a tunnel too.
Ah, maybe make it a beaver tunnel like you do the beaver bridges. I think there is enough space in the storage area to add one tile high levee that the beavers climb over. Then at the entrance you can make it trident shaped so that you can add a couple sluice next to the stairs going up for waterfalls and keeping the tunnel full of water.
I would love to see you build tiny villages around the map. Like 2 or 3 houses each with small farms or tree plantations. I think that would look nice.
Dear Skye, I don't know, if this idea is worth tearing down the existing paths to the underground storage, but if they were mostly made of overhangs, you could see the large warehouses better!
The tunnel is ace. I was, however, a little disappointed that you didn't go "Full Skye" on it, and make it huge and lined with lamps, or sluice gates to create walls of water and a river through the centre.😂

Hey Skye. Great episode and awesome tunnel project! Do the double helix staircases on the left and right side have only one connection to the platforms? Does that mean that only one of the helix is used to get to the upper levels? You have only two exits on the lowest floor I think.
Hi Skye, hope this comment is early enough to get your eyes. Is it possible to build metal platforms and overhangs on top of sloughs? If so, those would look amazing instead of wooden pillars holding up metal building pieces. Not saying to redo Archie (wooden platforms holding Archie, lol), but for any future 1x1 pillar you need.
I commented on R&D that you can do something about that center pillar and make that center storage work if you would use platforms at entrances and levees instead of terrain blocks. Its not going to be visible, so whats the difference. :)
I have about 120 beavers in my village... Recently decided to expand my aqueduct to 3 tiles wide and when it was finished, I had 7 beavers left because of dehydrated. Oops
I think it's a bit of a waste of having all this empty space between the warehouses. At least the second row (which didn't have the pillars) could be squished together better, to get more a few more warehouses in. (Originally I was saying "put the platforms from the path side", but ripping all that out now might be a bit much. But even if you leave the underground storages as they are, you can still move the warehouses together.)
Dear Skye, A full day away, a tunnel AND an underground storage, and still no place to put the spudonomicon... We potatostians are very disappointed in you. Obviously the holy spud means nothing to you😢. Signed a neglected potatostian
Dear Skye, Your tiny brain did come up with a nice storage system and housing system. But don't let that inflate your ego because even a broken clock is right twice a day. Picture as always we love you and you are amazing. You really are a kind person for being with Skye. You have so much tolerance. He knows you could do so much better. Keep. Up with the awesome shirts. You should design a beaver summer dress. Maybe it has several beavers on it saying different things like (I enjoy being a wet beaver) or (As a beaver I am an expert with wood). It would be so nice if the game allowed for tunneling. For water pipes and power and walking. It would change everything if they add tunnels. Next you have to get Big One and Little One done. Those poor beaver nuns are drying up and they need a place to relax and get a deep massage at. So you need to make that area a resort slash worship area. You know add some potato fields and other monuments and features. Giving those nuns an excuse for going with no one suspecting what they are really doing. The spot you said you have no idea what you're going to do with. I thought that was obvious. Potato fields. Just nothing but potatoes to be sacrificed to the gods.

Surprised filled it will levees. Could have made it a water compartment. Either way, well done.
I commented on R&D that you can do something about that center pillar and make that center storage work if you would use platforms at entrances and levees instead of terrain blocks. Its not going to be visible, so whats the difference. :)
Colonial me: zed? *flips through dictionary * lets see oh hear it is zed the British way of saying zeta or zee. Oh okay the letter Z
I wonder what Skye is going to do with where he had installed the batteries?
Is he going to green that up too? Did he forget about that area?
I have about 120 beavers in my village... Recently decided to expand my aqueduct to 3 tiles wide and when it was finished, I had 7 beavers left because of dehydrated.
Oops
Dear skye! Don't tell me to fog off, how rude! Lol
Loving the series still, just curious, what’s your thoughts on workers & resources? I imagine you could make something amazing on that.
Thunder Dome!
I think do the area north of the water tower next. (archie being the very north)
Above the gaps in the storage place you shouldn’t put bridges there instead put leves because I think it would look cooler that a bridge
im in for a few minutes but i think you have to rip out EEEVERYTHING for the tunnel xD
bros violating the giga dam
We need waterproof sides/walls in this game 😊😊
Dear Skye,
A full day away, a tunnel AND an underground storage, and still no place to put the spudonomicon...
We potatostians are very disappointed in you. Obviously the holy spud means nothing to you😢.
Signed a neglected potatostian
Hai Skye nice video. 👍
Dear Skye,
Your tiny brain did come up with a nice storage system and housing system.
Dear Skye, hi from a proud colonial. That is all.
