- KAy got a question from a subscriber if he could do a follow up video from an earlier video he did, where he cleaned a record using wood glue. In this episode he show how he use to clean a record using wood glue and also share his experiences regarding using glue.

Excellent, thank you Sir.
The 6 Rs -
“Reduce,
Reuse,
Restore,
Repair,
Repurpose (you see broken a broken glass, I see a candleholder),
Recycle”.
Useful tip - a little squirt of cheapo hairspray on bolt threads makes a superb, cost-effective alternative to Threadlocker™ - €1.50 instead of €12. Plus you get a lovely (initial) walnutty aroma!
Thanks for the video, as a broadcast engineer, I've been doing this for years. The only difference is using your finger to evenly apply the glue.
Amazing idea.
It works. Don't think I'd be that brave.
It is at that moment, you’re thinking you have nothing to lose. The record was a total mess. If ever played it again I would probably destroy the stylus on my turntable. And.. a new record is able to find for an affordable price. So it was for me a win win. I got my record back in very good shape, and I could prove this method works - if you’re using the correct type of glue, and take your time 😎
Mate, just completely cleaned an album with wood glue, I was gob smacked, better than new, no pops and crackles at all. Complete silence. I was initially sceptical, but cleaning it traditionally did not work. I had years of built up grime, all gone. Now to clean the other 200, cheers
Happy to see other have same results as I do :)
And thank you for your comment :)
I am surprised after all those years, people still want to damage their records and stylus!
As I have told in an earlier comment, that record was already a questionable object. If ever I would play that on my turntable before I tested this glue method, for certain I would destroy my stylus. And as you could see from the microscope, the record was comparable to a record which was in mint condition. So how the glue can destroy the stylus, I really does not k now. But what I do know, is that I am still enjoying this record after may times played after the glue rinse.
Former DJ from college years, been doing the glue for 30+ years. Never had an issue AND guess what, I have clean, pristine records. BTW, which record cleaning solution are you selling?
@@cvee2614 Lol, what makes you think I am selling anything?
I have been a music lover buying vinyls since the 70's. If glue works for you great!
