- Victory Screen Backgrounds are pretty boring in Smash Bros Ultimate but now that's no issue anymore... The Modder "coolsonickirby2" has made a mod in which the last stage you play on will now be the background for the Victory Screen! This is how it looks with all characters!

As much as it would have been a very cool idea to have each fighter's victory screen be their home stage, I can see why that wasn't a thing in Smash Bros
Maybe the victory screen should use the 8-player Omega variant for the victory screens, so that way there's enough space!
@@tikprpro03 I personally don't think even that would work. The graphical bugs aside, I feel like having the victories on proper maps just makes the whole thing feel too cluttered and "loud"
@@aliciafraser1835 maybe they could extend the platforms in to actual long peices of land, and for moving platforms, cars, and planes that you can stand on could maybe be seen in the backround instead

It's funny how it teleports all the entities into the middle of the stage.
I would guess it's actually just the objects are spawned with x, y, and z coordinates all being 0 by default (which presumably for this game is the middle of the stage.) and since the stage isn't being processed like it would in a match the objects never get their coordinates set properly and just remain at the default location

A victory screen in the last stage makes more sense in my opinion, as if the characters were posing for the audience we hear in the game.
Now I’ve been thinking about it, the characters who aren’t starters can maybe use the stage where you fight them for unlocking them. For the starters and the DLCs, you can use their most emblematic stages. For example, Luigi could use his mansion while Fox use the top of his Arwings! For the team battles, they’ll be in the stage of the characters in front of the group. For example, if Luigi did the most points, he and his team will be on the roof of Luigi’s Mansion. I even have an idea for Fox and Falco: If they’re in the same team and they win, Falco will do a backflip and land on Fox’s shoulders. If they aren’t alone, the others would either help them (Since Falco is heavier, taller and older than Fox) and/or cheer them up.

The only character who is a straight up downgrade with this mod is Sephiroth, because that fire background is iconic (if you know, you know).
Joker’s really depends on the stage. A few of the more solid stages might work, but most are just square floating platforms and would ruin it
Yeah when I first saw this, the first thing I said was "Sephiroth is fine because his victory screen is the only one that's super unique alongside Joker's if you won the match with his Final Smash"
Joker's would probably work on Sora's stage or any circular stage

Very cool idea! Some look really good! I'd love to see it, but the amount of bug testing and quality assurance would be insane, I doubt we'd ever see this.

i think it's pretty obvious based on a good number of them. They'll need to make a brand new platform to accomidate with every victory animation as lot of them don't fallow a 2D plain.
Edit: not every stage were made with a full 360 background. Plus extra coding.

Make the lighting worse? Mess up some of the character models (Fox, Ganondorf etc)? More visual glitches? Yeah this is where the "modders do what Nintendon't" argument falls apart. I can definitely see why Nintendo didn't do this from the very beginning.

I never realize they changed wins to win for ice climbers they really put a lot of work on little details like that
I think that's because in Japanese, it's always "win" and in English it's usually "wins", and since it's the same voice for both, English will use the Japanese line for when it's needed.
They've also made it so other languages with gender differences have two separate lines for characters where the gender would make a difference. Which is why in English, since characters have the same line twice.
Most of them are all so majestic in their respective backgrounds

I don't understand why there isn't a stage based on Bowser's Castle, it occurs to me that a stage where the ground is divided into 3 parts separating them with lava and small fireballs coming out of it, on the sides of the main platform there is ground and Thwomps that crush you and in the background there are enemies like Dry Bones and in the center there are 5 platforms that move in circles slowly and on top of those platforms there is an x made with Fire bars that spins in circles very slowly.

Using the last stage must improve performance then, since it doesn't have to load the results level. Which is why winning as Sephiroth has better performance since it doesn't load the stage.
