  • Down The Highway looks at Jonny Wickersham's life music and career. Interviewed by host Ian Harrower.
Jonny "2 Bags" Wickersham (born May 26, 1968 [1]) is the current guitarist for the Californian punk rock band Social Distortion. Johnny Two Bags is the CJ Ramone of Social Distortion. Even though he is not the iconic original member of the band, he was a formidable replacement that filled the void for Denis Dannell.

Excellent interview! You can't dislike a guy like Johnny. He is such a humble and down to earth dude. Keep the posts coming!

Killer interview......I used to live with Johny's Dad, Pete Wickersham, at Ron Emerey's house in La Mirada. Pete was such a good friend to me and had amazing stories of traveling and singing. I recently found out that he has passed on, so RIP my freind Pete and Carry On Johnny.......Long live rock

Ian is awesome! He used to cut my hair when he was an awesome barber too. Jonny Wickersham is an incredible musician too and a tremendous human being for being able to go through so much and still be standing tall.

I met Lar & Tim from RANCID @ Warped Tour 1996 and Ill never forget me seein them and I JUMPED over the fence to get their autographs. Lars gave my friend Jim and I a beer to split (13 & 15 at the time)!!!! Lars & Tim were our John & Paul, or Page & Plant. I asked Lars who HIS favorite bands were and he said "The Cadillac Tramps CHANGED MY LIFE!" Now that, coming from our hero meant we needed to immediately buy all their available albums NOW! Well, none of their albums were available in Detroit, so I ordered 2 of them from our local store. I dont know if I was too young to get it at the time or it just isn't my thing but to this day, I still cant get into them and it bums me out soooo bad!!! Anyway, Lars, Rick Thorne and Chino from the Deftones hungout with us for a good 20 minutes....well, they talked, we drooled and hung on their every word hahahaha

Down the Highway is one of my new favorite shows. Awesome interview with Johnny Two Bags. I always liked his band the Cadillac Tramps and US bombs. My best buddy Brian Girton from The Lowdowns (SF) turned me onto the Bombs back in the 90's when I was playing in The Breakouts. I always wanted to do a show with them, but it never happened...man, I miss those bands...Those were some good times. This show brings it all back for me. Thank you so much for sharing this interview ...Keep up the good work ! Btw, I dig Johnny's solo stuff too. "Clay Wheels " pretty much sums up my life, and I'm sure a lot of other's lives as well, lol

I am an 37 years old brazilian. Music has been part of my life since the beginning, just like you said. But for me it is very special to watch your work, because the music that MADE my life is the old style californian punk rock, since Weirdos and Germs, Circle Jerks and Agent Orange, Adolescents and Social Distortion, Dead Kennedys and X and all that stuff since I was 13. Thank you so much for this video, I can learn with that, can't wait to see the next ones.

Great interview! So much better than all the generic TV interviewers that don't know what they're talking about.
You are passionate and know what you're talking about, refreshing to see :D Thanks for interviewing one of my favorite guitar players :)

Great show-good subject matter, Jonny was interesting and articulate and Ian let him talk instead of making the questions longer than the answers. Fab song at the end. Wish the show was longer (which is rare). Nice work, Ian. Cannot wait for next episode.

Great stuff. Very Charlie Rose-esque (my favorite interviewer). Ian asked nice questions and let Jonny respond without interupting. Liked the song to end the session. It's time to switch to Road Riders though. They go over pebbles better.
