We drive 3 hrs to Philly once a month as our church took over 6th street mennonite church. We didn't move there but, my husband, along with another brother is the link between the 2 churches. We always look forward to our weekend there!

I grew up on a farm in small town northern Minnesota and I have used wooden clothespins to hang laundry up on the clothesline more times than I can even remember!!
My toddler and i look forward to tour videos so much. I save them for the morning to watch with my coffee. My toddler will sit through an entire video of yours which is abnormal😅 he loves watching your children

The stroller collapsing thing was hilarious. Nit sure why, but I had to collapse one for some reason and my other (also childless friend) was there and we worked on that thing for a good 20 minutes, then we found a mother and it took her a few seconds😅 then we practiced and still couldn't get it.

Not a Mennonite, but clothespins were an almost daily item for me. Growing, up, one of my chores was to hang the clothes out on the lines. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. Going “downtown” to see the decorations and store windows was the highlight of Christmas.🎄 My grandma would take me, I even got to miss school for the day. Good memories

Hubby and I were shopping at Anthro here in Az. and we knocked over a display by accident trying to pick up an item. It was like Jenga! Why do they pile things so precariously?!?!?!? Happy Birthday!!!
My birthday is Jan 5 - so what do you do the week after the holidays? When we lived in Pittsburgh we would spend the day shopping and touring around and eating in Pittsburgh's strip district. ( No not that kind of strip district!!) It where all the products come into the city off trains and trucks and such.There are various shops - Parma sausage - 2 fish shops that have cafes as well, fruits & veggies and the ever famous Primanti sandwiches. The original shop is in the strip. It all started because the truckers needed a sandwich they could eat as they drove, so they made the sandwich with the fries and the coleslaw right in the sandwich. Anyway , we would buy everything to make a special Italian dinner and go home and cook together.
Happy birthday!! I LOVE walking around Philadelphia. Before COVID hit, we went there 4 times for various things (I have a 5 page printout of things to do there). Anthropologie has some of the prettiest things. I like looking through there too. I do have my wedding/funeral dress from there. eek. I love going to Betsy Ross' house and Elfreth's Alley the most in Philly. Shofuso is amazing too (a Japanese house and garden). Definitely check it out when it is warm, if you get a chance to. There is a really great cheesesteak place near the Ben Franklin section, but I can't recall the name of it. I get a chicken cheesesteak from it and my husband says they have the best Philly cheesesteaks ever there. I'll have to research it, but I am sure you can find it if you look in the historical district. (I just looked it up. It is called Sonny's).
