For those of us accustomed to the convenience of modern communication, real-time correspondence has become the norm. When we send messages, we expect responses instantly. It is easy to assume that everyone enjoys this convenience-or shares the same dynamics of communication. When our programs go out, it is natural for our teams to look forward to listener responses. Especially because we do not have the means for comprehensive censuses or surveys, quality responses from individuals are precious to us. This sometimes takes a while to arrive, but we have learned how patience is often rewarded.
