An epic meal and a beautiful video and memory that I will be revisiting for years! Thanks for the best birthday dinner EVAR!!!!
Hats off to you for cooking 10 dishes on the same day, and everything looked really tasty.
thank you so much!!! It was a fun and delicious but also stressful and hard! LOL!
I could really feel the HATE when she mentioned the broken frosting 😂
I NEVER had to deal with broken frosting before going vegan. NEVER!! Since then, I've done everything I can to prevent it but even in this video, you can see it was a little broken and it infuriated me lol!! Luckily, it still tasted DARN good!!!
This is incredible, so so so inspiring to be able to cook 10 FLAWLESS dishes..
Thank you Maddison! The good news is, with a little planning, I'll bet you could too!
Anthony is one very blessed man ! You’re amazing Joanne ❤
Thank you Darlouthia! I agree--he's a lucky man!!!
I'm very blessed, and VERY grateful for sure!! Thanks!!!
I'm glad you have people so special and close to you. These people are hard to find but really make life worth living ( i wonder how little Anthony would react if he knew someday he'd have such a loving wife and friend circle)
We are so so thankful for our friends!! and it is sort of fun to think about our past selves and how they'd feel about our future selves!!
@PeaAnderson huh?
First of all I'm loving the music.
The food is always phenomenal just like you.
TY Joanne 💚
Thank you Dina!! I really like the music too!
Another masterpiece, Joanne, what an amazing feat of love for Anthony's special day! I love your julienne technique on the peppers; it has always annoyed me how thick the pieces come out no matter how thinly I try to chop them, so your technique is an absolute game changer!! You are so multi-talented, and very inspiring. And a very happy belated b-day to Anthony! May the next 50 years bring much peace and happiness to him. 🎂🥂🎉🎈He's sooo blessed to have you as his spouse.
I don't know why I'm crying at the end of this video. It's so beautiful!
I am so grateful that you posted this. I am African American who loves Korean food ❤️my granddaughter’s mom is 1/2 Korean and since we met over 20 years ago it’s been love for the culture, the food especially. I even started studying the language 😂I know it is funny. But, I am still researching recipes and now I’m doing soups and stews. I’m going to make jjigae and fried mackerel with purple rice and some sort of kimchi my granddaughter doesn’t want the tofu in the stew🙄she wants tteokbokki instead🤷🏾♀️ That being said I’m going to make the recipe for the fried chicken mushrooms because you see I’m toying with the idea of becoming vegan also👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
That's amazing!! It's always so meaningful when I hear that non-Korean poeple are interested in Korean food and Korean culture! Love that you're exploring other cuisines, language, and cooking!
I’m an African American woman who loves Korean food! I want to visit Seoul again for the third time!
Watching you cook was so relaxing and therapeutic! Very beautiful! 😀❤️
I could listen to her voice all day
Awww, thank you!! I never thought ppl would like my voice!
Happy Birthday, Anthony 🥳🎂🎉🎈
Thank you, Susan!
I keep saying out loud “She made a freakin spread sheet!” 😂😂 I’m in awe
Such an inspiration! I’m not vegan yet, but all of your recipes are such great meal ideas and I was never disappointed! Opened my eyes to veganism AND Korean cuisine ❤ Korean Kimchi is one of the best things I’ve had!
That warms my heart!! I hope you get to try making something soon!!
The fact that you cooked all the course from zero and managed to get nice footage of every dish, that's so amazing!!! I think you might save more time if you don't have to worry about videoing the whole thing. But man, this video is epic!!!
Thank you for this. What a beautiful act of love
❤️❤️❤️
Your spreadsheet and packed schedule is taking me back to Thanksgiving... Which is almost here again! Low-key anxious.
This video is so thoughtful and beautiful and brought me to tears. So much love here, and the food looks delicious ❤
Thank you so much!! We are so grateful for the friends we now have in our lives!
I love these long format videos. Makes it really sink in for me. It looks amazing, every single element.
This is so sweet and loving! What a beautiful thing you have done for your husband!
Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun and it was delicious!
Omg 10 dishes!! Hats off to you😍
Thank you!! I had so much fun making them but more fun eating them tbh lol!
The longer the video, THE BETTER! Thank you for sharing with us.❤
A true labor of love ❤
Ha, indeed!!!
You are such an inspiration! The music was great, the dishes looked amazing and so yummy. I would have been the rude guest asking for leftovers to take home 😋.
Thank you for your content and effort in editing this video. Phenomenal job Joanne!
Happy Belated BDay to Anthony 🎉
LOLOLOL ROSA!!! In a Korean household, asking for leftovers is the COURTEOUS thing to do!!!
@@TheKoreanVegan😂
I have a Philipino friend the same for her culture regarding take home.
I got your cookbook for my birthday last week, and I'm so excited to make lots of yummy Korean food! I lived in South Korea for 3 years, and really miss the food. I'm vegan now, so fin8your channel was incredible. Thank you for sharing your love for food, and for sharing your energy with us ❤
Loved this! I also vow never to F with the chocolate cake!!! I was laughing out loud! Very funny😂😂
Wow, you put so much effort and love into this fantastic meal. Everything looks delicious. I would love to be a part of that dinner party.
WOW! So impressive! Love all the food!
Enjoyed every single minute of this entire video! Lots of love! ❤
That’s so impressive and also very sweet!
I just love your channel!
what a feast! and all made with love!
Absolutely loved everything about this from the reason, to the visuals, to the music, to the vibes, and the love that went into it all! All of these dishes look amazing! Since it was prepared in advanced, was it all meant to be enjoyed as cold dishes? If not, which items were meant to be enjoyed warm and how were they reheated? Thank you!
I love your videos! Your narration is superb. I have started using some Asian seasonings because of you!
How did you keep everything at the right temperature before people arrived? This is amazing.
That was very tricky. I ended up air-frying the mushrooms, kept the soup at a simmer, gave the pancakes a few mins on the stovetop, and kept the tteokbokki in the pot until service. The japchae was fine (it’s not meant to be eaten hot), the bread was great, and even the gyerranmari was still delicious (if a little hardened). The pasta wasn’t warm anymore but there’s not much I could there. It was still delicious!
My thoughts exactly. Amazing that you were able to coordinate it all
are you serious, the japchae is labor intensive? dunno how long all of that took but any one of those dishes would be a labor of love. if you put all that together in one day, well, i'm exhausted just watching you! brava! brava! accolades to the chef!! looks phenomenal. and wishing Anthony many very, very happy returns of the day!!!
This is absolutely incredible. One lucky guy xx
This is a beautiful labour of love - happy birthday! Even thought it was a bit different to see it chronologically, I actually think it's a bit better because i dont know if people understand how complicated it is to cook 10 dishes *at the same time* there's a ton of jumling back and forth otherwise no one eats until 11 pm 😂
Those looks delicious 😋 i hope i will prepare these foods on some of my next birthdays hehe
GREAT job! So proud of you!
What Korean song is it played in this video?
Everything looks amazing! You do such an amazing job your husband is definitely lucky! ❤
Thank you!! We had a lot of fun eating!!!
Very lucky!!! :-) Thanks for watching!
You are absolutely 💯 brilliant 👏
Happy belated birthday to your husband Anthony! 🥳🎉 Everything you made looks delicious. The dish with the leaves in it really looked like art. Also I didn't know that there was a pasta dish with pesto, green beans and potatoes in it. So thank you for passing that information on to us. And the cake looked both pretty and delicious.
Thank You!
@@AnthonyMolinaro you're welcome.
Man I hope Anthony is half as awesome as you are!!! Once again beautiful video. Lucky Anthony😊
Anthony’s desire for the perfect chocolate cake is admirable and after my own tastes. Yes! Don’t F with the chocolate cake!
Hahahaha! Yes!
The meals look so delicious! Also, you look stunning and the music is really soothing 😍
Thank you so much! I had a blast doing this!
@@TheKoreanVegan Thanks for replying ☺️! In case you read this, I also want to add, that I absolutely love your podcasts ❤️ I like how your introduction always blends in smoothly with the rest of your interactions/stories and how you get to the point with your questions!
Also, I just tried marinated eggplants and they tasted soo good, do you want the recipe for them ^^ ?
A beautiful display of food ! I wish I had your time management and execution when it comes to cooking. When I cook multiple things at once, something ends up cold 😑.
TBH, the pasta did end up cold, but it was still delicious! Everything else, I managed to keep warm or reheat! :D
@TheKoreanVegan I bet it was still fantastic 😉. Your food always looks awesome. I actually tried you Spaghetti alla nerano recipe and it was delicious.
I love the feel of this video btw, the music choice and editing are superb
omg thank you so much!! i worked so so hard on this video and the fact that you noticed means the world!
A very happy birthday to your husband 🎉❤ he is so lucky to have so lovable wife like you ❤and you lucky too have husband like him…always stay blessed….spread positivity to the world ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching and for the very kind words!
I definitely need to try to make them all 🥹😍
You will have yourself a grand FEAST!!
What a lovely birthday idea...delicious food and good friends❤
It was amazingly fun!! And Anthony was so pleased!
Yes!!! Pre planning for large cooking ❤❤❤
I want to be invited to Anthony's birthday party! The food looks amazing!
I’m buying all the books u create bc I have to feel like I’m in these vids 😂 so amazing that he loves your cooking ❤❤❤❤❤
What a beautiful spread!!!!
And it was so yummy too!!!
Everything looked SO DELICIOUS and you make it look easy, although I know it is not!😋 Phenomenal cooking!👏🏻
Happy Birthday to Anthony!🎂🎉🥳🙂
It definitely wasn't easy to do all 10 BUT most of them would be easy if done by themselves!
What an inspiration!
Awww hopefully it'll inpsire you to cook some of your own favorite foods!
Best video ever....so comforting 😊
thank you so much!!
Anthony doesn't look 51..
God bless you guys
🙏😁🙏
Totally relate to the life in excel sheets haha. It's both in my work as part of my job and personal life xD
LOLOL I knew there'd be a few of you out there!!! Thank you for making me feel so seen!!
Me as a wife 😊
:D
Happy happy birthday Anthony. The best is yet to come. 50s are the best
Thank you!!
Amazing. Have tried several of your recipes, everything is so good!! Would like to do the Korean dishes for my sisters 30th birthday. Do you reheat the fried chicken mushroom, vegetable pancakes and tteokbokki? Or do you just serve it cold? Thx 🙏
Hi! That makes me so so happy! I air-fry the chicken fried mushrooms for a few minutes, until they get nice and crispy again. I also reheat the pancakes by sticking each on the skillet for a few minutes. Tteokbokki, I make right before dinner, and leave it in the pot for a few minutes while I prepare service. Hope that helps!!
Happy birthday Anthony!
Thank You!!!
You are an artist 👏👏👏
❤️❤️❤️
Ok that mushroom looked delicious! For your dishes u added flour to, have u ever substituted wheat free alternatives? And what type of mushroom was that?
Yes! For the mushrooms I used potato starch for my GF friend and my hubby said he preferred it!!!
Lovely spread! How do you keep everything warm?
Hi! I started with the things that didn't need to stay warm (bread, cake, cucumber moochim, etc.), then moved onto the things that would be easy to reheat (chicken fried mushrooms (just stick em in the air fryer), Korean pancakes, soup), and then ended with the things I knew would not sit well (tteokbokki, japchae, and pasta). I also designed the menu with that in mind--knowing that I could only do about 2 to 3 dishes at the same time. I hope that helps!!
Why does your food look so good!?
:D
Amazing ❤
Awesome, happy belated Earth Day!🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the video
thank you for watching!
You’re amazing😢
Thank you so much!! Been getting beaten up on Instagram today so seeing this comment is indeed quite soothing.
Unbelievable! I want to make everything also!
My lovely Kim Sam Soon is one of my favorites. So realistic.
AHHHHH!! I always love running into ppl who know that drama!!
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Kim Sam Soon the best! Growing up watching that🙈
OMG yes! finally someone knows that drama!!
Iam so lateee to see this video. Absolutely beautiful spread. Happy birthday to our fellow brother Anthony. Waiting for next podcast episode soon
Thank you Eddie!! The next episode will be a bit delayed as I'm catching up on finishing Book 2, but we'll be resuming our regular schedule in 2 weeks!
@@TheKoreanVegan holyyyyy freak book 2 lets gooooooo!!!!
Who u are next level! Anthony is a lucky man.
:)
YUM!!!!!
Veggie galbi is so nice💛
Any tips on how to keep everything you cooked or food warm until the guests start eating it? I am also a proponent of cooking everything before guests come, so I have max time talking to them! I have kinda struggled with keeping all the food warm and soft etc
Hi Samanta! First, you’re just going to have to get comfy with the fact that you don’t work at a restaurant and therefore it won’t be perfect. Good news is, your guests know this already! Unless you want to get burners and hot plates OR stick to making only a few simple dishes (who wants that?), not everything will taste like it came right out of the oven or off the stove. Second, you want to have only 2-3 dishes to that you KNOW will not sit well. For me, I knew the tteokbokki, japchae, and pasta would not be good if they sat out too long. But I also knew that I could handle cooking all of them pretty much at once, esp because I have an extra portable stovetop. Third, I frontloaded all the stuff I knew didn’t need to be served warm: focaccia, cake, cucumber. Fourth, the majority of the items were things I could easily reheat: chicken fried mushrooms (zapped them in the airfryer right before dinner and they were delightfully crunchy), pancakes (gave them a quick refry on the skillet), miyeok guk (just let it sit at a gentle simmer until time to serve). Fifth, I used my spreadsheet to build backwards from my desired dinner time, noting which items would be passive (reheating the mushrooms and soup) and which would be active (cooking the japchae, pasta, and tteokbokki). Sixth, when the pasta came out a little cold after sitting out a little longer than I liked, i tasted it and it was still delicious so I didn’t freak out! Hope that helps!!!
@@TheKoreanVegan Thank you so much!!!!! Exactly the response I was looking for!!
❤
i want to try this also first
-We soak the seaweed first and only use sesame oil at the very end for the seaweed soup🤔 -Semolina flour for jeon - An easy tip for glass noodles is to soak them in hot water, don’t boil them 😅
Omg… isn’t that pesto pasta from the Pixar movie LUCA 🤩
Nice 🎉
Thank you!!
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
What song is playing at 7:00?
My birthday was 4 months ago if you need someone else to cook for…
🥰😍💞🥰😍💞🥰🥰💞🥰😍🥰🥰😍
Question.. Could you tell me who is singing the background music.. Thank you
Yea! It’s Adelyn Paik!

Why it is important to make the cucumber kimchi sauce in advance?
It thickens into a glaze over time. If you wait too long though it turns too thick. A few hours should be good!
Mommy, how to be a grown up, mommy?? 🥺
As an American this is big deal. However, I happen to know that Koreans prepare this much food on a daily. So no flex there.
Where is Anthony while you made all this? This is a lot.of time to hide a dinner party
Anthony was out and about. But the dinner wasn't a surprise--he knew I was making him a big dinner. He just had no idea I'd invited a bunch of his friends to join us!
The music made this painful to watch, which totally bums me out because I want to watch and hear you, but I guess I'll just turn the sound off.
Fortunately, you have CC.
What a beautiful feast. I'm glad I took the time to watch it with the CC (at 2 times speed).
I've loved Korean dramas for decades and some of my favorite parts was watching cooking scenes in K-dramas. I wanted to recreate that vibe. But I've included a lot of information in the description!
Thank you!!!
I’m blown away!!! On top of still filming🫠. Crazy skills all the way. Thank you so much for sharing . Can’t say I can master in a day lol but little bit over a course of days is where I’m at
Thank you! And even a few days to make all this is pretty impressive!
