How to Install a Draw Tite Trailer Hitch, i.e. How to Tap a Weld Nut - Shown on Pontiac Vibe!

Have you ever wanted to mount a trailer hitch to your car, but found the weld nuts in your frame to be rusted out? Then check out this video where I show how to tap out the weld nuts. In this case, I am doing it on a mid 2000's Pontiac Vibe, which is like a Toyota Matrix. The bolts are 12mm in diameter, and have a 1.25 thread pitch.

No rust precaution on the bolts and washers ?
These are usual different materials and therefore the oxidation will start on the surfaces soon, can even happen a lot faster than before on the car.

⁠​⁠@@TomsDoItYourselfHello mechanic here, to prevent contact corrosion we typically use ceramic paste to suspend the two different kinds of metal and protect it from galvanisation.
Just be sure to only apply a thin layer and torque the bolts correctly because it also is a lubricant to a degree.
