It's definitely the player, not the gear. As long as it holds a tune, you'll sound just as good on a $50 guitar as you will on a $1,500 guitar.

Its more the longevity of the instrument, my mate for example who's pitch perfect and petty much plays everything (its just not fair), bought a cheap Hofner ignition violin bass, now he plays with various different bands both semi pro and amateur. But he really used this thing and it started to develop issues so he got the pick ups replaced ect and recently at a charity event he was running, the jacking point blew up and he had to carry on with his electric piano. A lot of cheap instruments just don't hold up with heavy use, especially when they are being used regularly for gigging.
There are acceptations like sire basses, anything made in the Japanese Matsumoku era (Westone, Satalite and Aria) and Peavys the milestone being a sold choice, but most cheap instruments will break due to poor build quality and cheap parts. The headstock does add a significant mark up, but there's a lot more to it.

@@burningstar3466 No it's moreso just having to tune it every once in a while cause you can play it slightly out of tune after a few songs.

Hey Jermaine, I bought this very Glarry P-bass based on your review and it's probably the best online instrument buy of my life!
The bass came perfectly intonated, low action, definitely not in tune, but the frets were fairly smooth and to be honest after raising the pickup a bit it plays as good as Mexican Fender P Bass, which is mind blowing for the price of the bass.
    Many thanks!

I’m a guitar player and am looking for an inexpensive bass to have as an emergency if our bass player at church can’t make it. Remember the exchange rate from chinese to the US dollar is around 7:1 so that means if you bought a $100 item from China its the equivilant of $700 in their currancy. This is why the items for us are so cheap. But so far every guitar ive bought from China has needed a complete setup. String height adj, trus rod adj, intonation, new frets, new nut, etc. They build them and look nice but they dont do a setup fine tune on any of their guitars. I bought a beautiful white doubleneck and when i got it the 12 string was unplayable and some switches didnt work. It needed new frets on the 6string neck, new nut for the 12string neck, bridge adj, intonation, and electronics fixed. But it was under $500 which is why it needed all that work put into it to make it a good playing guitar. Altogether i spent around $1000 but it now plays good and looks very nice. Just understand with a chinese guitar it will almost always need a setup and maybe replace a few things like tuners pickups or nuts. Remember even though $90 seems cheap to us you are actually paying them around $630 in their own currancy. And for that amount of money it should be at least a quality instrument. Too bad they try cutting corners to make extra $ when they should set them up after they are built.

I might sell my Squier Affinity and by a p and jazz bass like these

Not sure about that. These are fat necked instruments where the Squiers are much slimmer (front to back that is).

Jermaine maybe you or the community can help me.
I'm in a roommate apartment situation and I don't want to disturb others.
Is there a device that I can listen to music and my bass playing through my Bluetooth headphones?
Please steer me in the right direction.
    Thanks in advance😎

I have the Sam done and for some reason I can’t find an amp for it. I bought two amps and none of them worked 🙈

  • @nvjohansson9741

I plugged my Gibson and a Firefly Les Paul in Amplitude and recorded some riffs and leads. I couldn't tell which one was which, which left me both happy and disappointed... A 10x price difference no longer makes sense.

No intonation adjustment? Sounds pretty well in tune up the neck.

@@JermaineMorganBass I bought one for my daughter a couple of weeks ago. Sounds pretty good, but I did have to tweak the rod a little bit, and the nut was a mile high. Plays good now though.
