- Granite Lake is our new favorite place to camp near McCall Idaho. It is the perfect camp site--away from the hustle of a traditional camp site, and easy access to the lake. The water is fairly shallow in several parts, and was the warmest lake we have swam in while camping. It is the perfect place to kayak or use a stand up paddle board and just relax along the lake.

Is the worse part of the road before or after Brundage Reservoir?
After Brundage Reservoir. It’s very washboardy for the entire 8 miles. The first campground by the bathrooms is not to bad but the second campground area has the huge granite rocks to go over. Well worth the drive though. We were just up again last week!
Looks like a nice spot, heavily used?
Luckily no. It’s a horrible road to get there, and at times needs 4 wheel drive, so that deters a lot of people. One of our favorite spots though!
