Hey thanks for sharing the long term review. About how long does it take to setup?
Honestly, only about 5-10 minutes. It’s pretty quick.
@@SweetLifeAdventures that's fantastic! It looked like it would be quick in your setup video with it being only minimum amount of poles. Thanks for the answer. Enjoy the adventures!
Thanks for watching our video!
Liberal parents making the kids wear masks....smh
It was mandated at the time, not going to miss our trip over a mask… but thanks for watching our video!
Interesting - I have had mine for 7+ years, and with the canvas laid out lengthwise, I fold the edges where the doors are to the centerline, then fold one half over the other lengthwise, then lay out the back at one end and roll from the other end, finishing at the bag. Doing this, I can roll the tent up with a thin full size rug in the tent, the cover top, and the footprint in the storage bag. If you haven't done so, I would highly recommend their cover top for the tent - especially with wooded area camping to help protect the top of the tent. Strong work!
Interesting. Always another way.
We have had our 10’x14’ Kodiak tent for 7 years now. We have spent 46 nights out in the woods and a few of those nights out in the desert. This tent is an absolute palace when camping. I spent one night out in an absolute downpour which lasted for several hours and did not get even one drop of water inside. I highly recommend getting this tent, it’s worth every dime.
Same experience we have had! Enjoy your tent.
@@SweetLifeAdventures Question what do you think of the Kodiak floor liner?
Hi- Our family has watched this video a few times and we can't wait to go this summer. Looks like a great time and so much to explore. Where did you stay while you were in the area?
We stayed at a hotel in Vernal Utah which is close to the park entrances. It’s a nice little town, and the museums are fun. Have a great trip!
It looks like this tent is about 80 lbs total. How is that broken up between all of the parts? How much do you think the heaviest component weighs?
It’s about a 50/50 split between the tent itself and the metal parts. The tent is probably the heaviest as you cannot separate it out like the poles.
Can you use your yearly NP ticket to get into this park?
That’s a great question, I do not know. I would assume it works, but we all know where assumptions get ya. Best of luck.
How’s the fishing up there any tips? Going there Tuesday with my 2 corgi dogs
Fishing is good, especially in the evening. Have a great time!
How noisy is the tent in high winds? I’m in Texas and the wind keeps me awake all night in a nylon tent.
Significantly quieter than nylon. The canvas is pulled extremely tight and it’s soft, so minimal noise. Might hear the zipper pulls a bit.
I was wondering how the top comes together. I bought a 12x9 on Craigslist. It was about 425. Pretty good deal. It’s got a lot of character. Let’s just say that.
My Brother has the 12x9 Cabin. Great tent, enjoy!
Well done camper. Really well shot video.
Thank you, we appreciate you checking out our video!
My wife and I sold our 31 foot travel trailer and purchased the Kodiak 10x10 tent. We want to go to places you just can't get to with a trailer. I love your explanation of setting up and I also love the fact you are real people with children and a dog. Well done video and thanks for posting
Thank you! You will have some fun trips with your tent. We love that you can go where trailers cannot with these tents. Thanks for checking out our video!
Consider moving the table closer to the tent and during disassembly place poles and stakes and their bags all on the table. Then bag everything on the table to reduce repeated bending and kneeling. Your body will thank you.
Thanks for the tips and for watching our video!
Hi! Does this tent have a small zipper or something where one can bring in the hose if using larger propane tank from outside of tent.
The doors have a bottom zipper and a top/side zipper. I just run the line out the door and zip it closed around it.
Bless you for the instructions. Just dragged the tent box into my apartment. Opened up the box, refolded as you instructed, and everything fit perfectly in the bag. I am ready to go!
Awesome! Glad the instructions were helpful. Enjoy the setup!
man this shit $1k each person if you wanna visit 😂😂😂
That might deter a few people 😂
Mine just arrived! 😁👍🇦🇺
Awesome, you’ll enjoy it! Thanks for watching our video.
Thanks You Very mucho for this video. Great Tent. A lot of information. Big soace and great Quality Made in USA. Greetings from Colombia.
Thank you, glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching.
Great video! Thank you
Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching.
Just found this and have a question....have you tried switching over to a diesel style heater yet? They are becoming more poplular, and Ive debated getting this tent combined with the diesel style heater. I have the exact same heater that you are using in this video, and it works real well, bu tthey do put off a "wet/damp heat if that makes sense.
Totally agree with your statement. We have considered a diesel heater, it just hasn’t really been a necessity since the heater buddy has worked for our needs. Maybe someday.
after a storm how long do you let it dry out?
These tents don’t take terribly long to dry out. I just leave it out until every side of the tents material is dry to the touch. A heater buddy running inside will speed this process up. No specific timeframe just feel the material.
Very helpful, thanks!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching our video!
Thank you so much for this video !! Worked just like you demonstrated.
Awesome! Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching.
The area has rattlesnakes.
Yes it does. We saw a couple.
Thank you for putting out quality videos about this tent! Would it much to ask for a video on how to clean the tent after camping?
That’s a great idea. I will see what we can do. Thanks for watching.
Awesome video man! Thank you!!!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
You are the man!!!! Thanks!
You got it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review! I'm outfitting a 10x14 that I recently purchased- very exciting! Do you have a link to that little stand you were using for the buddy heater? Thanks
I purchased ours at Walmart, but this will be similar. a.co/d/cz2rjlE
@@SweetLifeAdventures Perfect, thank you!
What Is The Most altitud that you have Run The Me. Buddy heater?
Around 8,000 ft.
Good pointers on tarp ... happened to us once and we learned to tuck it under. I always use a rubber hammer/mallet for the ground stakes. Also cause I once hit it with a hammer and damaged the material.
Thank you for watching our video!
Great long- term review, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
The plural used to be platypii or platypi, but was officially changed in the 1980s to platypuses to be in line with English orthographic conventions.
Interesting, thanks for the info.
I am very interested in this tent but super concerned about the mold and mildew horror stories. have you ever had it in multiple days of wet weather and had to pack it up wet until you got home? nice video by the way!! thanks
I have packed it up wet, but made sure to let it dry out at home as soon as possible. One time I had to set it up in my backyard for like 4 days because it wouldn’t stop raining at home either. One of the only downfalls of canvas. Definitely worth it though.
The building is a lot bigger than it was in the Eighties .
This was our first time, but loved how it was set up.
Thank you!!!!!
You’re welcome, thanks for watching our video!
Was the music needed?
Nope. In fact the entire video was not necessarily needed.
Another tip install a tarp over the tent top which creates a dead air space.
Great idea!
You might mention that on high a 20lb propane will not last 3 nights.
I’m trying to think how long we have ran ours for. Definitely two full nights with no issue. Do you know roughly how long g they last?
Thank you for making this video!
You’re welcome. Thank you for checking our video out!
When the lady was pushing the top post together, at the end she got pretty wreckless and kinda just took her hands off almost when the post were under tension, could have sprung up hit in face, please watch this video again and hold the connection point more firmly next time, great video though, thanks for your help, for mine iam going to get some pnnant flags for the guy lines to help make the rope stand out and support my sports teams in Pittsburgh!!
There is definitely some serious tension. Thanks for watching our video.
Have you tried using the heater buddy with everything closed. I'm debating on using a heater buddy as well
We haven’t. For safety we always have some sort of ventilation. We still stay plenty warm.
What is the best sequence for staking the tent?? I’ve found a lot of times my tent doesn’t lay flat and edges raise up and I have to try re-staking while the tent up so the bottom edges of the tent lay flat. Thanks
We have found not pulling the edges tight when staking works just fine. Stake them in as they lay with little tension is best, otherwise it will raise as you said. Best of luck.
@@SweetLifeAdventuresgood advice
Hey dude you have had that tent 5 years so I got a question have you ever been in a real good rainstorm where you got 2 inches of rain overnight or over a period of time of at least 12 hours or . And if you have did it leak
Yes, in Yellowstone this happened. No leaks but condensation on the 2nd and 3rd day formed inside.
I wrote “front” on the bag and make sure I put it back in correctly. Saves time when unpacking. Great video. Thank you.
Nice, good idea!
Nice overview thanks. Just got the 9x8 Kodiak Flexbow for single use.
You will love it! Thanks for checking out our video.
nice video, love the review.
Thank you!
Do we need to bring food, or do they have a restaurant?
There are a couple of restaurants in the park, but we just packed our own food. They have many awesome picnic areas.
Hot dog sounds good
👍🏻
@@SweetLifeAdventures thank you for the video it helped me with my Kodiak canvas tent 10x10 deluxe. I will never buy a Coleman tent again.
Agreed. Our Coleman tent sits in the attic as a, “just in case tent”. Glad the video was helpful! Enjoy your tent.
@@SweetLifeAdventures I'm disabled so I spent the money on a kodiak took me an hour to set up well worth it. I know these canvas tents could take 5 to 15 mins to put up
@@SweetLifeAdventures question did you buy the cover accessory for your 10x14? If you did you should do a video
How do you dry out your tent in the winter? I worry that i wont fully dry it out in these utah winters
We just let our heater buddy run until it dries out the tent. Some people will set it up in their garage. Best of luck.
@@SweetLifeAdventures thanks yeah a garage would definitely work if I had one haha
Ahh got ya, that would definitely help.
Been there, but I did not get these incredible views of this place.
The drone perspective is amazing. Such a beautiful place. Thanks for watching our video!
