  • In this video I show how to open the shoulders in Tai Chi and Chi Kung. There seems to be confusion about how to do this. I hope this one will clarify things. Enjoy!
    If you like to know more about, how to go into the internal, check out The Core Essentials Chi Kung Course, www.chiskills.....

    Shoulders are easy! I find openeing the wrists a lot harder!

      Stretch the fingertips away from the elbow for yang/electric, pull the elbow away from the fingertips for yin/magnetic. Happy training.

    I am listening over and over to your videos and slowly…..slowly the wisdom and insight is coming through. This by the way is from someone who has studied and taught Qigong for more than 20 years. Thank you!!

    Hi sir,
    Pls telling me: to open the shoulders, I have to force to pull/ push hard or gently/soft or relax ?
    Thanks 🙏

      Start stretching in such a way that you can feel what I mean clearly. Then make it softer and softer until it feels very light, but still connected.

      @@ChiSkills also why is the pull yin and the push yang? Is it just arbitrary?

    • @ChiSkills
      @ChiSkills  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@perrypelican9476 Yang is expanding energy, Yin is contracting energy, so, from the perspective of our centre, pushing joints open is Yang, and pulling joints open, is yin. There is a whole lot more concerning yin and Yang, but this basically is what it’s about at a basic, but very important level. Not opening the joints, no Tai Chi. Thanks Perry!

    Opening the shoulders is hard to get across… I find when people can’t open the shoulders, they resort to localised muscle usage, when open the the arms are controlled from the back, which is controlled by the legs. It’s also hard to understand if you don’t have elastic connection.

      Also… this is a major block for people when it comes to neutralising force, no opening of the shoulder, no force can be neutralised… good video!
