  • Hari Om!
Bhagavan Shankaracharya ji attacks the delusion of an extroverted mind that giving in to lust can lead to happiness. He advises seekers not to fall in the trap of sexual desire and suggests a technique popularly called 'pratipaksha bhavna' to overcome lust.
Swami Aparajitandaji explains how to avoid the pitfall of lust. Like a true subjective scientist, he dissects the problem logically with the help of scriptures and lists down six defects of sexual pleasures. Listen to Swamiji as he analyses the problem of lust from all angles and gives solutions of sublimation and holding on to the Lord.
He also recommends introduction of study of scriptures in educational institutions to give accurate and time-proven answers to youngsters for any and every problem in life and to save their intellects from being hijacked by this powerful instinct of the body.
    (Bhaja Govindam)

God Shiva speaks: It’s been remembered that the children of the Ocean of Knowledge sat upon the pyre of lust and incinerated themselves, and then I come and sit them on the pyre of Knowledge and make them living once again.

One question comes to me. May be I am wrong here. How a person will know that this happiness is timebound momentary, this happiness does not give infinite happiness(intensity), it does drain the physical energy, desire satisfacton will not put end to desire, it does make one slave to the mind, not control over himself, it does cut of the person's intellect?
Either have faith in the teachings of the Acharya and accept these defects or realize these defects through experience.
The institution of marriage gives a person the opportunity to indulge in this sexual activity. However, things easily obtained are not valued. When the person is after the sense object and achieves it after struggle then it is valued.
Then the point of this sense object being momentary, being finite, being taking away the vitality etc will come up. Today's men or women or the humans or stuck in the net of achieving the sense object. They don't know how to achieve these sense objects. Neither they can go complete in wordly mannaer, resort to unethical practices and achieve the sense object, nor they know how to be in the spirtual path itself, do some sadhana and achieve the sense object. If the spiritual practices can help him in achieving the sense object. Then he will think of the defects in that sense object. Once he experiences the defects then he will search for higher happiness and higher truth which is God.
May be it is possible for person to a attain the highest truth which is God without achieving the sense object which are of the nature of very lower truth. But a person should have confidence in himself and in God. He should be able to achieve the lower truths first. Feel happy momentarily. Then feel dissatisfied. Then search the reason for his unhappiness. Realize the defects. Then aim for the higher truth. Without achieving the lower truths, how the person shall feel confident of himself or keep faith in God to realize the higher truth?
Today's question of humans who have faith in spirituality is, how to get the worldly or sense objects spiritually?
In the Nachiketha story, on what basis Nachiketha could say, 'Jarayanthi Tejah'. From where did he get the knowledge? That is important.
Anyways, thanks to Swamiji for breaking the silence on a sensitive subject. If something has to be conquered, we need to break certain things. Keeping silence is not always golden.

It is not wrong, it is normal. However, there is something supernormal: pure love of God. I'm on the same path. Pray to God that He might give you pure love and desire for Him only, and remove all worldly desires.
