It’s amazing to me what the brilliant minds at MDV can build out of what is basically a shed in the middle of nowhere. Taking Ash Thorp's CGI-designed Cossie and turning it into a real racecar isn't easy by any means - and they've done it to the highest level. And now I drive it, for the first time ever!

Even the mighty Delta S4 had a 4wd system co designed with Hewland in the UK. We have the best fords over here too 😉

we don't make many cars in the uk no more but it seems we the best at making them go faster :)

I miss the 90s so bad, there were 10 houses on my street two had Cossies outside, one rally spec one road car.
I would love to find a German LHD version of the RS COZ.
I had one. 5000 series Rally certified. Garret T35 turbo, Magneti Marelli electronics and Weber fuel system. The car had much more horsepower then given by the manufacturer. Awesome car !!!!!

For someone who's never had one, but watched a lot of old WRC Cossies, I love that you've carried history into the future. Taking a few symbols, ground up bits from the original, and integrating them into the paint, is an homage. It shows respect for those that worked on, and drove the originals. Hopefully, Version 2 will get the same treatment when the time comes.

I live on Maui and I’m 34, I have a very blessed life, I came from a broke family and have come a long way. My daughter has more than I ever did growing up. Dusting the cage with bits of the original car is one of the dopest things I've seen and a great showcase of the love that exist in this lifestyle between driver and vehicle. Respect man.

I'm sure 1 million could get a fake RS200 with a hoonified body kit some rallycross fiesta or focus suspension goodies welded on a custom frame and cage. Slap a 2.3 liter ecoboost tuned for 600+ horsepower behind the driver. And tada! RS2HOONDRED! In the meantime I'll keep dreaming😂

You can really see the difference in suspension. It actually compresses like a WRC car. The 90's ones all look to be so stiffly sprung
The group A car is in tarmac spec. That's why it's so much lower.

great no more throttle cable to get hung up since I've never had one hang up on me ever but what is possible is your electric throttle body can short out and hold it Wide Open when you don't want it to that's just great that has happened

Bloody hell just see this. Grew up in Bradwell and still live here now. Wish I'd known Ken was over there I'd have gone and watched
I love the aesthetic balance of the old Group A car, very 90s, clean flowing lines in the body of the car; with the front lip complimenting the large rear wing.
Cossie V2 on the other hand has more of a brutal beauty. Strong hard lines in the livery, the giant box flares, to me it evokes a sort of Picasso-esque boxy, modern art feel. It has a way of just catching your eye. Very cool, its as though everything about the car was turned up to 11, without losing the soul of the original Group A car.

My all time favourite car ever fell in love with the yellow and blue pilot cosi when I seen it at the rallys when I was a kid no other car I ever seen had the same wow factor but what they done to yours Ken is really impressive I love it

To anyone from across the pond watching all those gravel pit workers casually saying hi to Ken Block and feeling like England looks like a really little and chill place - it is. It's actually like that. At a lot of the smaller car and bike track events, national champions are down at the fence shaking hands with spectators afterwards like they're at the pub already. At my work a little while back, a customer came in with the same surname as an internationally famous racer - turned out to be his dad. England's got the small town vibe all over it.

Its value will be far higher in years to come too. This "V2" is nothing more than a silhouette racer. Group A spec car has actual heritage.

The arches/flares kill it for me, too square and boxy...I understand the advantages of the wider tyre and track etc but looks wise, its not pretty...
@@bawjawmcgraw2232 that's the exact problem you are so correct the original ones enhance the lines of the car Wildey new ones are just too extreme maybe not for Ken Block though he probably uses the every bit of tire it has
The Escort Cossie is one of those cars that just looked so right in stock form, even when I was really in to modified cars in the early 90's you rarely saw a modified one that looked right* and it was hard to even get different wheels outside the classic choices, Compomotive Mo, Montecarlos, to look right. Nothing over 18s or it looked like a toy.
Even the WRC was a lot uglier.
* the Wolf stuff from Germany worked quite well, but was really subtle.
Ken's mk II looks great and it's kind of in keeping with the time with the tarmac arches and x-pack kits of it's era.
At the end of the day Ken owns my three favourite Fords (mk II, RS200 and Cossie) and he rocks his own style on all of them.
The flakes of Cossie V1 in the paint is next level - kickass, Ken!
This has got me hyped for 100 Acre Wood. Race motocross, started looking at Rally a little bit and can't wait to see the Cossie in action at my first Rally.

My mind is racing at the thought of applying this concept to my all-time favorite rally car: the Impreza 22B.

Ken! Please please please bring back the Pro Spec 3.0 Shoes. I'm on my 2nd pair in 7 or 8 years. (I bought 2 pairs that long ago) I want to buy a new pair! They are the best shoes for driving. I always get super jealous when you get a few pairs for yourself.
