It's 2023, today is my 24th birthday and I'm taking a trip down memory-lane. This song used to my absolute favourite for the longest time, since around the time it first came out, and Röyksopp my favourite group throughout my childhood (even though I could barely pronounce it when people ask me what I listen to ahah). It's been many years now, and my musical horizon has broadened a LOT since then. But when I finally replayed this song, man, I instantly remembered why I was such a huge fan. Happy up here, and many other of Röyksopp's songs will stay with me forever. You guys are the best.
Well, art and music are not things to be compared. It's like saying Apple Cinnamon tea was my favorite, but then I discovered the taste of Sumatra Coffee. The beauty is that widened horizons don't require a diminished appreciation for what we originally discovered. Cheers 🍻

Before I looked up the lyrics, I used to mishear "I feel like I'm part of a book I've read" to "I feel like I'm part of a Tokamak," which, admittedly, would be an unlikely line, but does give the sense of a much more powerful feeling, like happiness has the energy of a fusion reactor.
You know I really like it.. You know I'll always be here.. you know I'm Happy up here!! My spirit will be chillin around Maui Hawaii someday and I'm gonna make someone's radio play this song
Here in March 2022, some of the imagery in this video doesn't give me the same feeling that its creators probably had in mind. Sometimes timing is everything.
I remember when I first heard this song on the way to a hiking expedition with a youth group I was a part of when I was a little younger and a little more innocent. Sitting in the back, laughter bouncing between all the glad-filled girls and boys, this song shimmered through the mini-van; mixing with the swelling warmth that reverberated though that small moment and into the swelling landscape that rolled by. I just sat with a smile on my face and a glazed mind, taking in each second as it came.

NO WAY, my brother and I just got back from the DMV frustrated because we were trying to title and register his Trabant. Look up this song for the first time and there's a Trabant in it!
This song will be forever burned into my brain because it was in the pre-roll at each screening one year during the Toronto International Film Festival.
I used to listen to this song every single day when I was a teen, so addictive. I think it's the only song on my I-Pod which I have never deleted in the entire 5 years.
Took me over a year to find the title of this song. I heard as background music to an interview and could never here enough of it or get the lyrics. But thank God for Shazam and I finally found it today. This song makes everything seem cool and vibrant.
This, this is some funky shit! Heard it for the first time yesterday, couldn't believe it was released in 2009! My neighbour will be either bopping his head, or looking for something to come round and hurt me with as it's become a round the clock anthem. It's half 3, in the morning of course, and it's absolutely being played! So happy I've found it!
