Toni, siempre he pensado en la generosidad con la que contáis la gente como tú. Invirtiendo vuestro tiempo para inspirarnos y mostrarnos lugares increíbles. Mil gracias por tus vídeos!
According to historical references, the Three Wooden Crosses remained on the hill until they collapsed in the second half of the 19th century. At that time, the Russian tsarist authority did not allow them to be reconstructed. Later, during World War I, the German army occupied Vilnius. The German authorities admitted the reconstruction of the crosses; at that time, the crosses were reassembled with concrete material to make them last longer. Unfortunately, it only lasted until the Soviet occupation. Since the Soviets loved to destroy everything in their path, the Three Crosses monument was demolished. But it was not the end: almost 40 years had passed since the demolition of the monument of the Three Crosses. During the Lithuanian Reform Movement, it was rebuilt again as a symbol of Lithuanian identity and resistance to oppression by the Soviet Union.
