"Humans are hypocrites and don't live up to God's standard so I now don't believe in God". Yeah, people are horrible, but we don't look to them for our salvation or as a example of how we should live our lives. We look to Christ, who is God that humbled himself and became human for our salvation. I've never come across a pastor or head of a Church that does this and the exception does not make the rule. Read the Gospels for yourself, see how God has taught us to live and follow *_HIS_* example.
    *_Matthew 7:21_*
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
I agree that those who use others suffering for their own gain in the name of God are in the wrong. However like I said before, the exception does not make the rule.

The reliance on scripture to prove moral or philosophical points is problematic because scripture itself isn’t universally accepted as a valid authority. The Bible, or any religious text for that matter, is a product of its time, written by humans with their own biases, social structures, and beliefs. It’s not infallible or immune to interpretation, and what some see as divine truth, others see as mythology or moral philosophy shaped by ancient cultures.
The issue with using scripture as a moral guide is that it assumes that these ancient texts, written long before modern concepts of human rights, justice, and ethics, still hold ultimate relevance today. Take, for example, how the Bible has been used to justify slavery, oppression of women, and discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals. If we were to strictly adhere to scripture, we would be perpetuating practices and beliefs that are widely considered immoral in today’s society.
Not everyone shares the same religious background, and for many of us, the scriptures hold no intrinsic authority. When trying to discuss moral or ethical issues in a pluralistic society, scripture is a divisive tool. It’s like saying "This is the truth because I believe it’s the truth, and I’m not going to engage with the broader conversation or question its validity." But this shuts down dialogue and prevents us from engaging in a reasoned and universal conversation about morality that includes people of all beliefs and worldviews.
While I understand that scripture is meaningful to believers, it’s irrelevant to a discussion about how we should treat each other in the here and now. Morality and ethics should be grounded in reason, evidence, and a shared understanding of human well-being, not in texts that require blind faith or adherence.

@@FreethinkerJourney what "Preachers" have you seen? i've been a christian for 18 years and i haven't seen any of negative the things you talked about.(i'm not trying to be mean if i come off as such, i'm just rather curious). i know that what you described is closer to the Catholics(the manipulation aspect). specifically the priesthood aspect. which involves said priests being able to "wash away" your sins when confessing your sins to them.
if you need evidence for the Bible i highly suggest looking into the historical and archaeological side of things.
i would love to answer any questions that you have.
all of those negative emotions that you mentioned in the video are not of God but of the Devil. he likes to plant lies in your head to bring you down with him. he has already lost the battle and is simply trying to condemn you.
