The scene from Dinosaur is of the prehistoric lemur holding baby Aladar. Also, I find it interesting that Rescuers Down Under (the sequel) is what gets featured, unlike the first film 🤔. Don’t get me wrong, I like the sequel more than the first film, it’s just that the “only good” sequel people seem to care about is Frozen 2

This is better than the castle version. Both are amazing in their own ways. But this is hands down my favorite. I'm so glad the blue fairy wasn't spoiled for me. I saw Baymax was going to be included, but I didn't expect him to have pyro coming from his feet. That was such a cool touch! Obviously the flying characters are over the castle only. But the colors of IASW are a better canvas to "paint" on. They made two visually different shows. I LOVE IT. Thank you WDW NT for your dedication to bringing this to us who can't be there in person!
I think the projections are better here at small world but the show was made for the castle. You don’t get any of the flying characters here and you do miss some of the pyro that the castle has.
Lightings are nothing new, there already utilized it during Encanto projection show and during special occasion. But, it is the first time that lightings were utilized during a nighttime spectacular.
@@ians4535 the encanto show was a demo of the a new unified entertainment system that they finished installing in both parks last summer when the MSEP came back. Mickey’s Mix Magic was the first show designed with full unified control in mind, but the only missing piece was small world, until the encanto show came along and completed the network. The control system was already installed at DCA when the park was revamped and Disneyland started to slowly get upgraded to it in 2016, Disneyland Forever was the first show to use the system with Wondrous Journeys being the first show designed for the system.

Disneyland wasn’t able to use the software to its full potential though, since it was limited to only audio in certain areas of the park like Small World Facade/Mall (2021), Small World Queue (2018), Rivers of America (2017), Frontierland (2017), New Orleans Square (2017), Critter Country (2017), Tomorrowland (2015), Toontown (2023), and Fantasyland (2021). The limitations came from not having the proper network infrastructure installed in these areas to allow for total control by central lighting/sound/video consoles. Now that the full IP based control network is in place and installed, show designers are able to use all the features that Navigator brings such as making it simpler to program and playback lighting/audio/video park wide.

I also mentioned that the creative teams could not take advantage of the full potential of this system back in 2015 especially when the PARK WIDE system wasn’t completed until toontown re-opened. TAIT Navigator is a technology that automates and synchronizes lighting, video, and audio, as long as each device has an IP Address. FULL park wide control is new.
I thought I was floored by the castle version! I love that they’ve started utilizing Small World as a projection space, but this really is the best use I’ve seen to date. This show is spectacular, there’s something special about seeing it from there and I really, really hope they keep this show after the 100th because I want to see it and I know I’ve got a while before my next trip.
We'll wait for days of projection-only version of the show on weekdays and in case high-winds make the fireworks cannot be shot during weekends or peak days to see clean soundtrack version of it.

Not the best place to view Wondrous Journeys; no Blue Fairy flying over the castle, no Baymax flying over the castle and no fire. The fireworks are bigger there, but you didn't show the fireworks until the end, only the projections. Lol! 😂
The woke strikes again liked it all but the princess and the frog sequence feels like it was just stuck in there because you HAD to put something black in there..I'm so over this forced black woke in everything!!!!

Imagine thinking the really smart linking piece of doing all the older, “wishing on a star” type characters before you then have a character say “but the star only gets you so far, you gotta work for it too and we’re almost there” and move into newer animated characters and a focus on ones that were more active participants in their happy endings was all just some thoughtless virtue signal that serves no other purpose. It’s actually one of the better connective stories I’ve seen in a nighttime show, and while I’m sure they did include Tiana because of the upcoming ride and their current push to focus more on characters of color, don’t act like it’s some useless tack-on. Not to mention it’s about Disney animation, and at present it’s the last 2D movie they did. Makes sense to give it a spotlight.

Small world is finally getting the love it deserves for firework shows! New lighting!

They will! They’ve said it’s going to stick around (replacing Mickey’s Mix Magic and previous anniversary shows).
