@@foamyrocks665 he's somewhat easy to parry but as you know he moves around so sporadically that it's hard to keep up. Got him half way in one fight then he kills me with a slash that covers literally the entire screen
Absolutely awful. The difficulty spike from anything else in the game is completely unnecessary. And as a second phase to a fairly trivial first phase, it’s just BS.

I actually got a really weird but funny glitch during this fight where i died during the second phase but I had Próximo's altarpiece on so it spawned the ring, and when I came back it was still there, and because his phase 2 hitbox activates the moment his monologue starts it just kept hitting him so he was down to like 10% health by the time the fight started and just kept running into the ring so the fight was over in less than 10 seconds

Very difficult. Endboss is a pushover compared to him. Fully upgraded health and learned how to block his attacks in the second phase. Once you got the rhythm, and can block him consistently his attacks become slower! With this and the time stop prayer (seguiriya )i was able to beat him. But after 2 hours lol.
It's totally easy and exploitable. Just go into a corner and he will do the same easy to riposte move over and over again..

It's a spectacle just like with Escribar and it's beautiful
He took a bit, but what an amazing fight. I had been using veredicto for everything but I kept getting my ass handed to me every run. Eventually I decided to use Rueba with a miasma puddle on perfect counters and just perfectly timing blocks made him alot more tolerable for me.
That's the main problem with this game. Every boss is easier with veredicto and almost made for you to use it and then you get to the 2nd phase of this boss and it's basically impossible with veredicto. This is the only boss I'm having trouble with and that's bc I've only tried with veredicto so far.
he's still vulnerable to veredicto, I could get up to 4 swings in after his longer pauses
What's miasma puddle?
@@bryandedon7459 I actually found him easier with veredicto. You basically hit him in three separate occasions, when he lunges at you, when he finishes his combos and when he falls down after the massive sword strike. Parrying just makes him teleport faster making him more overwhelming, oh, and activated veredicto melts him
@@Humblemumble7 when you put 2 certain statues together, they give certain buffs. If you put the one that increases miasma damage with one of the ruego statues, it gives you a special skill. Every time you parry, it creates a whirlpool of miasma damage. You use the partisan which increases the window time to block and the alchemist which increases miasma damage. It works tremendously in this boss fight. I would stand in the corner and let him attack and he'd keep doing the same attack and I would just parry and reposte him and he'd take normal damage and be hit with miasma that would tick damage on him.
It's weird bc each weapon has a main elemental damage attached to them and I never realized there's actually 2 that works with them. In the skill tree, you can only increase 1 but they actually take advantage of 2. The ruegos main is mystical but it also has miasma, the dual blades main is electrical and also uses mystical and veridictos main is fire but also uses miasma. I didn't realize this until a little before this boss fight.

Honestly, I slapped on thunder/elemental resist so that when I screwed up and had to tank damage I wasn't utterly screwed. But my best friend here was the daggers

Really good fight, hard but fair once you learn the pattern
This might be my favourite boss from both of the games
Ended up stopping at this guy, he looks like a fun challenge to master but I'm not really fond of going through all the unskippable theatrics every attempt

If you struggle with the second phase, stay next to the edge of the screen. This way, you'll be able to parry easier using Ruego al Alba, since you won't have to deal with teleport mixup BS. Avoid blood disc throws with regular jumps. And his circular slash in the air can be i-framed through. Time the dodge with the second screen flash
They updated this. It‘s no longe possible to parry his attacks.
@@Skwarciakcan confirm this is cap. Beat him yesterday and I was able to parry all of his attacks except for the blood disk and in the air moon slash 😂
My only complaint is that I wish Eviterno donned the pointed helmet like the penitent one. It’d be a much cooler look and a better parallel to the protagonist. He had it in his cutscenes. Kinda weird that he went mask off.
I know I'm late to the party, but I just have to say, I love how at 4:15 the music syncs up so majestically with every boss animation, almost as if that was when it was intended to be played
you can clear this fight under 2 minutes using veredicto and the time stop prayer, with more dmg, fervor gain alterpieces
But u can only usw time Stop 1 time?
@@lashxx3983 while stopped time, you can use veredicto to refill fervour meter, thus stopping time again and again
I'm not proud of it, but it worked!
@@lashxx3983you can use it as much as you want veredicto fills your meter up faster than the others do allowing you to use time stop over and over..You can almost keep him locked into place and just beat him

For people who are still stuck with this boss, I have some tips to dodge him
Do Not Parry, he becomes absurdly fast and hard to keep up with especially since his second strike is random, you want to dodge every one of his attacks like this
Base combo : dodge away, dodge away and dodge through the 3rd attack to get some hits
Giant slash : run and then dodge (when it lightly flashes, that's your indication that he's gonna fire it).
Slash projectiles : jump or dodge through
Lunge : dodge towards him to get damage in
Combo 2 : dodge away, dodge through and double jump and airdash past him in the opposite direction to not get caught in his attack and get some hits in

The best spell for the first phase is actually the purple beam thing. There are many instances he stands still to hit him with it.
lol i can kill him in first phase with zero damage...the second phase is the issue bc his hits kill you in 2-3 strikes

Am i the only one that weirded out that in cutscene eviterno still has a nail in his hand and penitent one somehow got his hands on wrapped agony (not to mention room still being fine)? Possible dlc details?
This may be a hot take but I generally think the second phase is more unfun and unfair than difficult. The game doesn't prepare you at all for Tlthis type of skill.

It’s funny how most the boss fights in this game were super easy and then there’s this one at the end which is probably the hardest between both games lol
Use veredicto for second phase. Freeze time with the freeze time spell, and then crouch and mash the attack button with veredicto (as long as you keep hitting attack while crouching the Penitent One will just keep spinning the flail) You should refill your fever enough by the time thr spell ends to immediately recast it.

oh my god... I know he could mash this way but didn't realized this combo. They definitely need to nerf it.
Yeah I had an alterpiece that increased my fervor gain and the fervor upgrade for Veredictus so I was just freezing time, hitting him 5 times and then freezing it again. I also had the time freeze on my bile flasks. I'm surprised that they didn't keep the thing from Blasphemous 1 where you couldn't gain fervor while a prayer was active.
They patched this and the time freeze only last 3.5 seconds as apposed to 6 like it used to
What chant are you using in the second phase?
What kind of damage does he do? Trying to optimize my rosary beads for this fight since it's kicking my ass
I've been trying to figure it out myself.
I'm not too sure, but it seems like his attacks weren't hitting as hard when I tacked on all the Mystic Damage resistance beads
Second phase looks like mostly just Physical and Mystical.

The second phase of this fight is BS, I can no damage the first but holy hell they went overboard with the last one.
Sounds like a skill issue to me. Joke aside, if you manage to read him, it's extremely satisfying parrying.

Who cares for Rosaries in Blasphemous 2. Just take the ones with the highest damage reduction. Figurine loadout is far more interesting.
It's that big upwards swing that reaches behind him that always catches me... Good boss, but WAY harder than anything else up to this point.
The trick with second phase is to "dance" with him with dual sword. Its soo epic. Dash, and attack when possible

This was the first blasphemous game i played and this was the first boss i fought after i upgraded my health. I somehow went through almost the entire game without upgrading health, flasks or amount of flasks. I beat all five of those dead daughter trials, and every boss before this one and he still kicked my butt for about 40 minutes. "Die by the blade" by Beast in Black is a fun alternate soundtrack for faze 2 by the way.

There‘s no blocking window anymore. Since the last update you can’t block his attacks during the second phase anymore. I tired for hours and hours. It is just impossible. So I had to gibe up. Very sad this game has to be so frustrating and unfair.
Blitzed the first and died on the second phase. Again on next try. Read this article and decided to cheese the 3rd try with Veredicto and time stop. It was working but I messed up and stopped him middle of a debla type attack and couldn’t hit him so he got me out of fervour. 4th attempt I got him. Changed my altarpieces to Veredicto strength only and the rest fervour boosting, universal damage, prayer enhance. Still close but didn’t exactly dodge much just tanked it. I do remember Crisanta and Isidora taking over a dozen attempts in the first game but I agree Eviterno is harder really, it’s just we already know to cheese him. In retrospect neither Isidora or Crisanta had to be hard at all because once you know the game you are invincible for them. The only bosses you have to fight in blasphemous 1 without being invincible are the first 3 which are basic. They seem to have removed invincibility for Blasphemous 2 which is good because the end of the game actually requires a bit of a fight.

Why they won't let you skip the dialog is beyond me. I'm so sick of hearing it. I can't stand this second phase. I get pinballed back and forth once I get hit once.
imo best way to beat him is using daggers with some specific alterpieces like"lose one indicator when you get hit" and "%20 more heal from flask".this combinatinon gives you resonance that "3 indicator when you use flask".with timestop prayer it is melting the boss but you have to get used to dodge a bit.
The only way to win this really now that they fixed the whole time freeze loophole is to literally memorize every last attack and know when it is coming and what to do within a split second and even then it will likely come down to the wire.
It's crazy how much better the Spanish voice acting is

Time stop and the fervour alters with veredicto completely trivialize yhis fight, as you can do time stop back to endlessly.
I used to go in the boss fight with the rapiers cuz they give you enough window to dodge, at one point i did the first phase with veridicto like it was so laugable. The second phase kept fucking me over again and again, perfect parry was the way to go but my god the attack where he calls everyone really took me by surprise. Loved the fight, such satisfaction after beating him. Took me like half an hour and 7 tries but man what a fight. All bosses leading up to this felt too easy

One little advice, for phase 1, don't bother using up attacks, if u get at the right distance u can neutral attack and perform the final 4th slash of the combo, so u get mooooooore damage

Maybe the prayer that we get after getting all the cherubs but I'm not sure cause I'm missing 1 cherub from getting all of them lol. 😅😂

There is also a resonance bonus by combining two statues, so time will stop when you heal. Way better IMO

I would actually want to learn the reason why they use chrisanta motif in the theme of this song. its either they use it to symbolize the penintent in opposition of the penitent one or for some reason about chrisanta pressumed death
According to her altarpiece, she tried to stop him but he was apparently immortal, so she decided to take her own life with her own sword in order to strengthen it with her blood so one day it could be used by someone to kill him, which is what we end up doing. Shame we couldn't keep afterwards as a post-game reward.
The motif is probably there to symbolize that, or the fact he's using her sword to try to stop us, mirroring how she tried to stop us from reaching Escribar.
I’m pretty sure that motif is just the Blasphemous main theme in general, since it plays in several places in 1 and the first trailer of Blasphemous 2

No it isn't. Fourth try. It'*s easy to exploit. Hardest boss is the multi face thing. On the other hand I have'nt beaten neither Isshin nor the Demon of Hatred

@@lashxx3983 Just get into a corner. He will do the strike combo again and again. If you are in a corner, he won't teleport behind you for the second strike, that way it's easy to parry and retaliate. The second strike is the one you want to perfect block. Then do some after strikes and repeat that till he's dead. It's basically like Crisanta (or Gwyn from DS1). If you can parry this boss it's not that hard. Use Ruego Al Alba for this battle and max it out with figurine combos boosting this weapon..

any one struggling in the second phase , u can easly win by activating the apilty that stops time and use verdicto 5 times to regenate stamina then use the apilty again then use verdicto 5 times till u win , and u can easy win against the final boss this way
They patched this and reduced the time

Throughout the whole game i thought i would hate this guy. A previous nobody who just walks in, kills a main character, disappears for the whole game, appears at the end and then gets bodied and for the first phase it was true
He is now my favourite boss and im really interested in his character. part of me wishes they fleshed him oit more and made him the final bkss because devotion incarnate, the grand finale, was the only biss minus the tutorial i beat firsts try, it felt very underwhelming.
Beat him without taking any damage with stop time spell.

I consider that this boss is more broken than the final boss. I've been there for two days and I still can't download it and it remains in pixels of life several times, it has a really desperate timing that is a challenge

The bosses second phase isn't the problem. The problem are the 5 minutes of wait time in cut scenes and the boring first phase to get back to the second phase while figuring out the actual move set. Took me an hour of which maybe 20min were spent in the actual second phase. Aweful game design.

Fully upgraded veredicto or at least have the "Immaculate Harvest" upgrade, the "Seguirya to the memory of your eyes" Chant (must have), and the "Selfless Father" Figure equiped in the Alterpiece of Favours. Maxed out fervor is really recommended. Just spam the chant, hit Eviterno 4 to 5 times with Veredicto to regain sufficient fervor to use the chant again. It's cheesy, but makes it possible...

Go full on defense for mystery damage. And put every attack bonus on you have.
The best attack window is, when he jumps so you can slide behind him.

The character isn't really good optimized. I made easily double the damage with the same weapon.
ngl, having to go through the boring first phase and the slow ass transition inbetween during each attempt made this boss too frustrating for me to be enjoyable, which is a shame cuz it's the only boss fight that gives an actual challenge i feel like

Cutscenes in the beginning of the fight and between the phases were the hardest part, super irritating. Terrible gamedesign

phase 1 is so easy, it's laughable, but phase 2 is ridiculously unfair; he's too fast!
A tip if you haven't beaten him yet, Sliding/air dash completely hard counters all his attacks, Don't try to Parry him. Also use veredicto with defrag.
thanks for the tip. i haven't beaten him. i took a break from the game but i just came back a couple of days ago. i found out the hard way. indeed, dashing is key. however, at some point i have to attack him. i watched a few videos on beating him and just about every one i watched seemed to resort to the "stop time" prayer. i didn't have it and went back to get it and came back to fight him. i'll admit i get farther ahead with it but still not enough to beat him. gues it's now just a matter of practice and to "git gud" @@N_Tertainment7

Thanks for the link but it wont be necessary. I just finished the game! (Though I got ending B) Took me a while but I figured out Eviterno's patterns. A lot of dashing but another key factor was patience. Slowly chipping away at him with a couple of sword slashes after swooping in and out. Final boss wasn't so bad.@@N_Tertainment7

I don't understand the balance in this game. Whole thing has been a rather enjoyable breeze, I even first tried some bosses (which didn't happened in the first one) and then.... this fight. Second part is just too chaotic, I'm not able to understand what's going on. And no time to heal. And that would be nothing if I didn't have to hear the speech every frickin time. Just let me fight ffs.
I hate this dude with a passion. The scond phase is just too hard. I am an absolute Blaspemous 1 veteran and so was able to bounce through Blaspemous 2 with little trouble, and then this moron came up, especially phase 2. Oh what fun to do phase 1 over and over again and hear the unskippable dialogue over and over again. Still have to beat him, and it`s no fun, took me out of the journey. To make matters worse, I hate the character as such. He looks boring, the lore is weak for Blasphemous standards. Seems like they really went out of ideas in the end and decided to just go with some random old evil manga dude as the main villain. I find the endgame really disappointing after all the amazing things before. Also didn't like the final area, Crimson Rain. Boring to look at, no new elements, soundtrack was mediocre. Ugh.
