I hope that these restaurants appreciate channels such as yours. They introduce non-traditional cuisines to the average Vegas vacationer. This restaurant went from a place I would never give a second look at (because I was completely unaware of the cuisine), to a place that would be a must-visit. The food looks absolutely fantastic. Great job as usual.
Din Tai Fung is literally one of the most well-known restaurant franchises in the world with locations in 15 countries...think they were doing just fine...
this is the definition of traditional cuisine.
I'm Taiwanese and went to Din Tai Fung many times here in Taiwan. Yes, everything is as exactly the same as here. It's nice to know you like it 👍

I love Din Tai Fung. I have gone to the original ones in Taiwan and they are fantastic.
You are supposed to poke a hole in the soup dumpling so the broth fills the spoon. 😂
Nah. No definitive right way to eat it.
I like to let it cool a little, and put the black vinegar and ginger in a spoon with the dumpling, and pop the whole thing in my mouth to let it explode like a juicy gusher.
Never understood the whole tear a hole method. Why bother making a skin that can hold the soup if all you are going to end up with is a spoon of soup with a ripped up dumpling on it? You could do that without putting soup inside the dumpling.
I guess that method makes sense if you have a small mouth or cant bite with your mouth closed. 🙄
Seriously, try it as a one-pop and let me know if you think it's worse.

The chocolate dumplings are liquid GOLD! ❤️❤️. Also a favorite is the green bean dish and the cucumbers with the spicy oil. Delicious! We have several Din Tai’s in the Los Angeles area, closest one to me in Glendale. We love it there.

I have a special place in my heart (and mouth) for the spicy pork and shrimp wontons. In order to avoid wasting one drop of that delicious sauce, I just order a 2$ side of noodles, and then pour all that left over goodness on top of the noodles, and I have a whole nother dish on the cheap.

I went to an all you can eat sushi conveyor belt place in Chinatown on my last trip to Las Vegas and it was amazing! Going off the strip to explore the city is so worth it!

Thank you for the review. I was in Vegas 2 weeks ago and was disappointed to see the Aria restaurant was replaced with this place. I will give it a try next time.
I went there on the second day it was open. For just XLB, there is one other place in Chinatown which is comparable (Shanghai Taste), but for overall dining experience, DTF is great, especially in this Aria location.

Wow! The Aria cafe is gone. Loved going there for breakfast and when they did dinner, the beef ribs were the best. Will definitely miss the cafe. 😭

I’m pretty sure you are not following the recommended way to eat the soup dumplings, their signature dish. Use the amazing sauces provided, which diners are supposed mix and use with each dumpling. My son took me to their restaurant in Portland, and I was hooked. The server at that restaurant thankfully provided us with some guidance. One of their restaurants earned a Michelin star, which is a real honor. We’re going to the Aria in a few weeks and will certainly visit this place! Their soups are fantastic.

You must've gotten half orders. Usually it's 10 pcs an order for dumplings. I recommend pork chop, bbq ribs and garlic green beans for appetizers. The spicy wontons, pork has more flavor than chicken and nothing there is really spicy. Also, XLB are super easy to eat if you don't fuss about and just pop the whole thing in your mouth. The soup inside is never too hot.

I looked up the menu - a little on the pricey side but given what I saw it will be worth it.
Dumplings, shrimp, pork, noodles, & melted chocolate - how could it go wrong? I'll add it to my " must go to " list for my next Vegas trip (assuming they don't close like Wynn's buffet & Mesa grill did). Another great vlog Derek...and a nice shirt too. Soup dumplings are delicious. I can't wait to get back to Vegas to eat at Din Tai Fung.
They must put a lot of MSG to marinate the meat before wrapping it, that's why it is so delicious.
I been to Taipei, Arcadia, Costa Mesa (So Coast Plaza) locations. Very delicious. Oops, you dip the XLB into the vinegar ginger, not eat the ginger with the dumplings. You can mix some soy sauce and chilli sauce in the dish if you want more flavor. I often ask for separate small plates to hold the food after you take from communal plates.

They have a restaurant in London. Had lunch there with my friend in August, had the a lot of things, but they did nor have the truffle and pork dumplings soup which was I wanted.

Please give "Orchids garden" in Las Vegas a try if you like dim sum. It is very good and reasonably priced.
DTF is so expensive, can't even imagine with Las Vegas prices.
