    Here's a different type of video that I don't normally do. Do you like a mix of both a vlog and/or do you prefer the video style that I have been doing? Leave a comment please.

    I like the ride along video. When ever I had to split insulation and glue it I always managed to get that crap all over me. I didn't do it often enough to get good at it either. I can remember working on ice cream machines back in the 70s in lima, they had a screw type system. Down be motor tou would adjust as the ice cream got thick it would move this device and kick the machine off. Not any fancy electronic boards back then. . My favorite hamburger is the kewpee 😄

    I have a Lenox folding saw that uses recip saw blades, great for cutting armaflex, the normal craft knife style blades go blunt in no time cutting that stuff. Interesting vid!

      I wish my brother was able to do a video for me but the"Union" would have a few things to say about that. 😠👎👎

  • @sterlingarcher46
    @sterlingarcher46 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Man I bloody hate doing insulation , and Armaflex blunts blades after 2 minutes of cutting it .
    What I usually do is put some Armaflex tape on the glued joints so air and moisture doesn't get in .
    You said you haven't done much insulation but you did a better job than me !

      HVACR Survival yes we stayed the week and were bored out of our minds. We went into Manitowoc and that was just as bad. I wish it was back to stoelting though. Volrath I think has made to many changes. I miss the old timers that worked there.

    A steak knife works really good for cutting insulation. Also Armaflex makes the white coating that you paint on to protect it from the UV.

    • @HVACRSurvival

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Went to a Stoelting class the first time before even knowing anything about ice cream machines. (Much like my generator training.) It helps to have some basic knowledge first about them before going to class. Since then I've gone back again for more training, this time with more questions to get answered and that helped a lot. But majority of it I learned as I work on them. Obviously I'm mechanically inclined so I put one and one together. It's just times where experience and rule of thumb have to collide and sometimes you have neither. LOL
