I found and watched your video, because i bumped in to a Alliance VP 10-JC -EQ-TMOS on marktplaats. it's a cut away model with a pre-amp as wel. Thanks for the video's about the Alliance. They put me on the right track in finding a great gitaar at bargian price. Now playing to get to know the machine and see what it needs.
Hi Maurice, I have just bought an Alliance VP 10JC-EQ-BMTS single cutaway the exact same model as the one in your video and I am delighted with it. I saw it online for very little money and it was your tutorial that gave me the confidence to buy it. The tone and sustain are amazing and it gets even better when it's plugged into an amp. The action was a little high so it got a pro set up from a local luthier. I can't believe what a wonderful guitar I now have. Thank you so much for giving these great guitars a background story, without your videos I might have let this beauty slip through my fingers. Thanks again and keep up the good work :-))
I ve got a VP jazz bass copy. It was my first bass but the brand is Challenge. I guess it s the same brand...VP logo is the same as this guitar on my bass. Where were built those VP instruments ?
Great video, I really like how you explain the luthier craft and guitar quality. The tone of this guitar from your videos seems great. Does this model has the same quality as your model in terms of solid top and sides ? Also in some forums I have seen that people argue that this model has a high action, so might not be comfortable for beginners. What are your thoughts about playing comfort of this model and if it is high at all, is there a room for lowering the action without greatly increasing the buzzing ? An acquaintance is offering me this identical guitar model as in this video for 130€, I would like to know what is the price range. I have not seen the guitar yet but by the photos it seems to be in a great condition. Thanks
KaktusCzar Yes the quality of this one is like mine! About the action: every guitar needs to be properly setup, and needs maintenance at least once a year. So yeah, if you'll get it setup the action will be okay. If you're not sure yet if to buy the guitar, I'd be happy to advice you. I bought a worn out VP ALLIANCE in a hardcase for a very great price and it's lefthanded too, en nou hoor ik dat je Nederlands bent haha! Ik werk bij een kringloopwinkel in Dordrecht en het toeval wil dat er dus een geweldige VP binnen kwam in een oude koffer. Omdat ik er werk kan ik snel dingen regelen en kreeg deze dus voor 50 euro's mee. Nou hebben we ook spaarkaarten waarmee we spullen in de winkel kunnen kopen, en ik had er meer dan genoeg om hem te betalen. Al met al lijkt de gitaar op die waar jij mee bezig was met een element en zo'n bedieningspaneel. Leuk om te zien hoe die dus kan worden!!!. En zo komt het dat er in de kringloopwinkels meestal enkel waardeloze zooi te vinden is.Alles wat ook maar 1 stuiver waard is snapt het personeel mee huis. In BE is het niet anders !

Brass bridge pins are a great idea, as are bone bridge pins.
