Sampling Dragon Fruit at La Vega Estate, Gran Couva Trinidad & Tobago | Fresh Munch

- An impromptu visit to La Vega Estate in Gran Couva, Trinidad resulted in a mini tour where owner, Mr. Bertram Manhin was gracious enough to let us sample some of his fruits.
We tasted two types of dragon fruit, the red which is known as Hylocereus and the yellow, Selenicereus. We also sampled Lipote or Syzygium Curranii which is a tart but semi sweet berry and is a relative to Pommerac.
We would like to extended a very special thank you to Mr. Manhin for his warm hospitality.

Those are all rare fruits for me. Interesting.
You can make wine with almost any fruit, as long as you hve an abundance. My cousin would have loved to purchase them in bulk

Goodmorning Baidawi and Afiya great video. Where exactly is that farm,have to put on my have to visit list. Most of the fruits are exotic and i see a lof in the Philippines and Asian countries never thought they would have been in Trinidad. Awesome vid.keep them coming.Keep safe.
They are tropical fruits. Hence the reason is can grow in our climate
My goodness this man has some fruit trees I didn't even know about in Trini! Allyuh take all the man cactus fruit? He has so many, is he really waiting around for it to bear here and there or is he using the leaves for something else? I just started growing a mamey sapote seed, I didn't know about black sapote. I wonder what it tastes like? Did he mean the taste is like chocolate mousse too?
He was more than happy to share :) He said the taste of the Black Sapote is mild but the texture is like chocolate mousse. We didn't get to sample it.
