The One Who Got Away ~ redux

I've put this one up before, but something called me to put it up again. "The One Who Got Away" is about how I felt as I was growing from a small girl to a teenager ... in the Philippines. Somehow, we got way because my dad missed his homeland (he was from Burlington, Vt, our mom from Manila) ~ this is an absolutely true story, and so true to my internal life.
It was written in the IMAWest kitchen when I was left alone ("unsupervised") for maybe 5 days ... it took me about 2 days to write, but much longer to record. Why? Because Jean wasn't around, but Leo Adamian was (drums) was. So we set up, and he played the shaker live on the intro, then flung it off as he started the drum part!
I did a guide vocal and all the harmonies, then Jean overdubbed the lead vocal, and bass. So, for me that was a pretty long process. Normally, we would record the basic parts in a day!
