Your whole CRF300L mod series is amazing. Having so much fun tricking out my son's bike with him. SM wheels just went on tonight! The father/son time and passing down wrenching knowledge with this project are priceless. Truly grateful my friend!
It's crazy to think how long I've been watching your videos I think I found you back in 2016 and do it Dan it's been great for me to come back to your videos like I never left.
You're the reason I have this bike in a super moto. Sport bikes were first. But now I have my cbr600rr (since 2016) and my 21' crf300l which I super moto'd today. I haven't gotten to mess with it too much but it's basically a huge, powerful Grom. Which was probably my most enjoyed bike I've ever had
Hi, did you have any problems with ABS and did you get a acceptance for the bike? I am looking forward to also buy one and convert it to super moto but in germany laws about the acceptance are very strict...
You should only cut the fork guards where your wheel runs. Put your caliper on before fitting your front wheel. Finger tight all of your axle bolts then spin your front wheel and apply your brake a couple of times before tightening it all up. Most importantly USE LOCTITE on the caliper mount and caliper bolts !!!! I've owned a couple of Supermoto's .. Not trying to be a know it all.. Just trying to help anyone that's going to do this job. You'll be happy that I've told you these things. They are the best bikes imo to ride around on the road for short distances for sure !!!
Built my last build ten yr ago ,and started my frst in 91 ,a kx250 with an rd 400 engine and custom spoked s/s spokes rims .shorter for tubes of an xs 650 .and back swinging arm of a Honda four hundred four ,lots of spacer work ,etc ,took a engineering class for six week .That was long enough to get all the metal one offs I needed .i got more offers on that bike than any bike I’ve ever built .it was fun fun fun .
Got a 2009 KLX250s and was making fun of it but with the right tyres and snug to hairpin twisties it leaves a huuuuge smile on your face. You can drift with both wheels and 70Km/h and still feel like having fun. Also removed the clutch switch and bike switched to the fast map (weird i know) which ended up with 152km/h top speed, from 137(!!). I can't imagine how much more fun 17inch would be. Wish it was a D-Tracker, though the 21inch feels great when rural tarmac roads get overly rough or mixed with dirt.
Damn.. I forgot about the crash at 2:15 on your brother's bike. Holy shit. What a flash back to my high school days when I watched you pop wheelies. Dude you made me laugh so damn much. I'm just happy to see you're still making vids.
Would be sick to see someone with a KLX300 factory SM ride along and compare with the CRF300L conversion. Obviously the KLX is the less expensive way to go, but a side by side of just how much better a swapped CRF is might help the cost difference to be more tangible/measurable.
Pretty sweet, the wheels look awesome. Ah supermotos... maybe one day I will own one. Came pretty close when Honda offered the CRF250M over here, but never pulled the trigger, being vertically challenged dissuaded me pretty fast of the 855mm seat height 🤣 About the chain, having experience with road bikes and industrial chains, the interference fit in motorcycles clip links threw me off the first time I used one, is that possibly why there was so much talk about clip failures back in the day? Impossible to sit the plates by hand and it feels sketch trying to use pliers on it. I ended using a simple cheap C clamp, the old outer plate and 2 M8 nuts to sit over the pins and push the new outer plate straight in. The little leaflet that came with the link was pretty light in details, no mention of a chain tool as necessary for a correct installation.
Yeah that’s an o ring thing, the interference fit. I also have a c clamp I’ve used to do it. But the thing you gotta watch is sometimes the pins start pushing out the back of the inward link. If you install a non o ring chain (dirt bike use em) you’ll see the link just slips on.
Dude don't let the high seat scare you, with supermoto trim it lowers it a bit and the bikes are so light, sumo will change your life! Worst case you can buy lowering links for most bikes.
Man I miss when motovloggers ran TH-cam. Okay maybe not but the community used to be so big and now it just doesn't seem like it is. I love you jakey-poo. Been here since your DRZ. Glad you still upload man. Also, I have a 2020 CRF250F & now I wish I waited and got the 300. Thanks, dick.
All that work and you still have the OEM exhaust on it lol that's the first thing that comes off my bikes , after market full exhaust and an ECU flash or fuel controller , super nice bike tho man ! Love it , clean as hell
Love it only thing I might if done is take an extra 1 or two links out because it’s quite slack and the chain is new so it will stretch only time you need a super slack chain is if it’s going to be off road and doing jumps and catching air so it has room when the rear shock compresses
Man I kept pushing wide coming outa that turn (was on a big ol 701sm, she don’t change direction quite as easy) so outa frustration I kept getting harder on the throttle on exit 😂
Time to get a proper case saver. First ride out on my 450L and it ended up packing its self full of mud and stones. Supermoto is not for me but good video for any one that wants to do it.
Yep yep yep haha. I hate that thing. But the aftermarket ones I’ve seen don’t have a case saver built in. They’re just open covers. May hack this thing up to open it up.
Supermotos take SUCH A MORE BEATING. Have you seen those Continental ContiAttack SM Supermoto EVO tires? The Continental Road Attack 3 already have a roughed surface ("TractionSkin") from the mold, no need to scrub them.
2:25 I was ripping through a sand wash out and my front must have caught, I went near sideways and my right knee kissed the ground and I jolted back up straight like nothing happened. I lost my shit I has so pumped.
It's very easy to tell which youtuber is an actual professional, and which one just repeats whatever others do in their videos. This guy is one of the repeaters.
I mean... I get what you're going for. I would love to put something like this on a track against an old Suzuki Bandit 400 (video suggestion hint hint). I think the Bandit would mop the floor with it on anything paved. You could probably get one for less than your cost in mods. Good to see what [can] be done.
Ouff i am existed to when I can ride a 300, I live in Norway so i only have the a1 license, got a Yamaha wr125x but I wish it had more power tho, it still wheelies like a king so can’t really complain
I bought a KLX300SM. I wanted the suspension tuning that came with the KLX300SM. I may pick up a set of dual sport wheel/tires for road trips where I might ride both street and trail.
nice content. is your wheel sizes 17-3.5 and 17-4.5. Some friends advice me for the rear to use 17-4.25, from your experience what you think of the rear sizes which is the best is it 17-4.5 or 17-4.25. Thanks
When I start adding up all the mods on this bike. I am quickly approaching the 450 price. And I have stopped adding up the numbers. If I added them all up I think I would be approaching African Queen price. 😜😜. I am following every video though and taking in what I think I might want to do and what I can live without.
I have been doing this since 1993 SuperMoto that is--- i was Danish Champion in 1995 on a CR500 equipped with CBR600F1 wheels -- So tell me W H Y its a bad idea to go with forged wheels ?. My current fun-bike is a -00 GASGSA 250 equipped with Aprilia RS125 forged wheels.
Got the chain from Revzilla and the gold clip on link . The the gold link looks a little different as it’s not EK . Was yours ? I’m a bit apprehensive about the chain joining . Great videos btw I’m building my CRF and had loads of gear shipped to the 🇬🇧💵💵 just couldn’t resist ! You’re bike looks very nice
Everything would be the same except the relocation bracket. The rally runs a different front brake. But warp9 has the rally as an option so just select that and 👍
@@TheGardenSnake I guess I probably know the answer considering which you bought, but do you think the bike is quick enough to make the screen worth it? Do you ever feel like you’re missing a larger tank?
No I didn’t check that and if I didn’t it now it would be different. Since that video I’ve done full race tech suspension. The bike sits up a good bit higher now. Still can easily flat foot, I’m 6 foot with a 33 inch inseam.
@@TheGardenSnake Based on the tires it should have been roughly 1.8" lower in the front and about .75" in the rear, so seat was probably 1.25" ish lower. I was watching a Seaky video before and now this... you are in the comments of every youtuber I like 😂
It's crazy to think how long I've been watching your videos I think I found you back in 2016 and do it Dan it's been great for me to come back to your videos like I never left.
about the same here... i started watching jake when i lived in cali no bike georgia no bike and now Dallas Texas about to get a bike lol
The color of those wheels compliments the graphics kit quite well. The Honda is looking really good in supermoto trim.
You're the reason I have this bike in a super moto. Sport bikes were first. But now I have my cbr600rr (since 2016) and my 21' crf300l which I super moto'd today. Was looking at CRF300L's today and asked myself "has anyone SM'd one of these?". Glad to see you were the first YT result.
Amazing work pal!
One of these days I’m coming over there to see spicy and you all
Old school 701 ride out footage baby!
Damn bih you’re alive?
Pls come back
jake . ive been watching alot of ppl who own this bike and you have the nicest and sickest looking build . color scheme and style . so sick dude
I usually hate forged wheels on supermotos but I have to say these looks very nice!

Came out SICK!!!
It’s been a while since I’ve watched Jake’s videos, I’m glad he still enthusiasm about supermotos

Gold at attracting dirt and spraying lube EVERYWHERE 😂
@@TheGardenSnake never had a new chain throw the factory lube anywhere lol
I fitted this chain and yes it threw grease everywhere . Clean it before fitting it . I’m still finding white sticky grease all over 🤷🏻♂️🥲

Nice to find a local channel that’s building bikes. #funkytown

Been rhinking sbout getting a used wr250r and getting super moto wheels
bruh, you ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder how much shorter if you convert it to supermoto. I don’t want it to be short since dual sport setup is already a bit short for me
Looks good now we need honda to mass produce good supermotos, they've always had the means to but never really did
Looking a real nice.
Using a front plate from a different chain to the masterlink is a bit of a gamble...
I measured it and it was the same. At least to a 100th of an inch.
Great video!
“Before they were cool” It’s been a while, hmu up bro
What are the rim and tire sizes? Want to go with the same dimensions you did for my first

Can I remove the wheels to swap motor for dirt with the chain riveted
What do you think about running a 17” knobbies on a super moto? Seems like that would work really well off-road
They ok but since I have the other wheels I just switch back when I want to do lots of off road stuff.
If 1980s Spider Man had a super moto this would be it.
So the bike, wheel kit and extras, to make it a street bike is about $7,150..Or just get a street CB300 R for $5,150. Is it that much better?

THAT is bad ass 😎
hi friend i just got one i am in the uk hope you are well
Nice set up. Do the 17” SuperMoto wheels lower the seat height? If so how much approximately?
The graphics and color scheme are prerty horrendous but at the end i guess they fit the crazy DIY character supermotos have lol.
