I’m planning on putting more “Frankly Lisa” in my shop in June. I have 40 sock WIP’s, I’m slow and new things call to me to be cast on. 😂 I’m knitting 8 family members boxes of socks, this year. I have two socks per family member going at the moment. I’m super excited for summer sock camp! My favorite pop tarts are Cherry, Raspberry and S’mores.
💖💖🧶🧶👋👋🧶🧶💖💖 In 2021 I got stuck on 2 pairs of socks. This year I doing a massive Project UFO thing. For some reason, this month, I am sock crazy... I am working on the toes of one pair while watching. Sometimes we just aren't feeling it for some reason...
I am also a delicate flower. We have 9 days straight days of 100+. I loathe the heat. Tomorrow is 109. Just trying to get through. No central air right now. Making do with 3 portable AC units. We need to replace heating and cooling systems. Favorite Pop Tart- brown sugar/cinnamon
Your sock basket is inspiring, not overwhelming, to me. I have two skeins ready to go and 2 wips I'd like to finish. We'll see how it goes, but I'm excited for summer sock camp!
My favorite Poptart was Blueberry - when they first came out. No frosting on top, just plain….toasted in the toaster. So good. Especially on a rainy day. Now I don’t think there are any non-frosted tops.
Yay! what a beautiful basket! I am also excited about the summer sock camp and I have layed all my bright skeins on my desk, but I think I should get them into the basket as well :))))
I am doing Summer Sock Camp for the 1st time this year and am so looking forward to it. It is Monday, and I am doing the second toe of the final pair on my needles 😁 Usually I only have 1 pair of socks on the needles at any one time, but for some reason, this time I had 2 pairs and I do NOT like that. So for SSC I shall be back to my usual 1 pair only. Between tonight and Friday, I shall finish off the baby blanket that I am knitting for my granddaughter who is due in September. Then it will be socks all the way!! My birthday is tomorrow and I know that amongst my presents I have 5 new lots of sock yarn, so I am excited to see those. Jinny - UK
Love watching you each week! We watched the Poptart movie Friday night and then I was craving a cherry one… haven’t had one in years! Your basket of yarn is beautiful…I also love knitting socks but can’t have more than 2 WIPS at same time. I have made some of Kay’s patterned socks and they are really good!
Good morning Michigan. Thought I would convey my sock routine. Estatic for the cast on. Always am. I'm a slow to medium sock knitter. Absolutely adore the 15 round 2x2 rib. It's like a beginning to be what becomes the 2nd best part. That 60 round knit. At this point everything on my mind is blissfully calm. I am at peace right here. The heel is my slowest hour. Have to really consontrate. Heel flap, the magical fun part like "KAY" says. 1st pick up gusset side. A breeze. I'm very good at that. The second side is my trouble time. Don't know why but it's as always very tight. Hand strength is needed for the first few rounds with all those stitches on that one needle. When I'm back to 72 stitches I feel very content and happy. 50 rounds for the foot. Feeling it again. First set of every other round decrease takes too long. Every round I really like. 8 stitches on each needle. I catch myself sometimes saying out loud. Knit, leave on. Purl, knit off. I sometimes feel silly. On Kay's magic loop at the end where she lets go and slips off the last 2 stitches seemed off at first. But what she does at the very end just happens to work out. I actually love working the 2nd sock better than the first. Swifting the skein is the boring part. Take care Lisa 😅
There's so much of what you shared that I can comment on and, yet, I find myself talking Pop Tarts -- my favorite is a frosted brown sugar -- I haven't had one in years and I may leave it that way to not risk ruining the memory 😆 Love starting my week with your podcast!
I am in for the knit all the stripes! I think I may put a basket together for that. I am also going to be making some fun colorwork socks for Julie of Twin Stitches Summer ColorPop Socks KAL. I haven’t participated in the summer sock camp for the last two years but I think I may this year. Btw…my mojo is back !!! Been knitting since Friday and all weekend and looking at stuff I want to knit. 🙌 My Asokah and Bounty Hunter yarns should be here today 🎉🎉 Have a great week!
I’m very happy to participate in Knit All The Stripes KAL along with SSC! Caking up some indie dyed yarn today for dear sister and I will knit a pair of shorties for DH in a commercial yarn, and maybe another pair in indie dyed, and all of these are self striping yarns. I think it would be funny if you you wrapped up the WYS Jay with the bonus pink pair of slippers for your father for Christmas so they’d each have a pinky pair. I’m a wilting delicate flower too, especially in high humidity with high heat, fortunately we live in a dry zone with central air conditioning, and we have frequent days over 100°.
❤❤excited for ssc and ur striped along too ,lisa,,,, Love socks too and love ur podcasts because of all the socks,,,yarns And scrappy socks,,, yippee 🎉🎉 Love the jays socks,,,,I have that yarn in my ssc basket,,,,also the freckled whimsy set I won and have never knit with it,,,excited to cast that in Friday,
Lol the horn honker is excited about summer sock camp also 😄. Love the socks you knitted and yes give them to your mom. But don't wait for Christmas, give as an extra surprise just because. She'll love it.
Generally, if I'm not feeling it I'm not feeling it when it comes to knitting a sock yarn up into socks. But I have put some older yarns aside to use up this year as I have plenty of sock yarn and I want to slip a few of those that have been passed over for too long between others to get them worked up. Otherwise, they might continue to hang out in stash, take up space (in my mind as well) and never get to express themselves. I'm with you regarding the Stephen West socks. As much as I love his patterns I'm not so keen on his sock construction. I think most are worked over a 12 stitch count or in 10's, which means no 64 stitch count. Perhaps as Linda, who typically makes herself 60 stitch socks, taught him how to make socks and 72 stitches works for him? Regardless, I do find a joy in doing vanilla socks that lets the yarn shine in its own glory. I'd love you to knit up that purple pair sooner than later. C'mon, stop teasing.
question about the crochet granny stripe blanket-how many magic knot balls have you used so far and approx how many grams-also what is the least amount of grams of a scrap do you add into a magic ball thanks lisa

Thank you for the video! Perfect for sock knitting! Occasionally I get Pop Tarts as a treat for the kids, and I LOVE the brown sugar cinnamon ones 😊

I really love the scrappy crocheted blanket, I just finished one and I can’t wait to start another… After summer camp!

Yay!!
Hello Lisa, from Swansea, Illinois. My favorite pop tarts are the strawberry.
Work on your scrappy blankets if you finish socks and have a couple days before Summer Sock Camp starts. 😊
If I were you I'd finish the granny stripe blanket! You're soooo close!
I would love too, but if I crochet for long periods it really hurts my hands and wrists. 😢

Thanks! That’s a good idea!

Good Morning form Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 Love your basket full of sunshine ready for summer sock camp 🏕️

This will be my first year participating in SSC and I’m way too excited about it 😂
As fast as you knit a pair of socks, I bet you can knit all your basket & all your mystery skeins and still need more yarn for Summer Sock Camp.
Probably. I might need a refill. 🤣🤣🤣
@@knitalltheyarnpodcast5512 no doubt about it!!
Try the blueberry waffle socks
question about the crochet granny stripe blanket-how many magic knot balls have you used so far and approx how many grams-also what is the least amount of grams of a scrap do you add into a magic ball thanks lisa
I’m working on my 8th magic knot ball. They have been around 125 grams each.
