Scandinavian Vikings wore kohl (the makeup you were talking about) to avoid eye infections. It was brought back as an import from the Middle East for this purpose.

I genuinely admire how your adequate point of view makes me forget about people highly influenced by entertainment media popularized position about vikings. Except for helmets with horns, I’ve been hearing a lot of misconceptions and inaccuracies about northern raiders from people who are heavily trying to make an impression as if they are real historians and debunking myth experts. A huge thanks for reaction video!
I wouldn’t call my point of view “adequate”. It was just a video sharing my initial thoughts on the game. But you are right. Vikings are HUGE in pop culture right now and often super inaccurate. I think everyone hops on the bandwagon of critiquing Vikings in pop culture because well... it’s almost too easy.

Damn this trailer looks so epic! Not buying the game though cuz I’ve wasted enough of my life playing WoW for about 10 years straight haha. Luckily I haven’t touched a single game in over 6 years now. 😅
