The vanish carbon is a top tier peba supershoe for sure and blows away NB, saucony, adidas, Hoka, and brooks in aerobic testing. AND it is the most stable and comfortable of the true super shoes… especially at mile 20 since it doesn’t force your foot to load the same exact was ever stride… they prototyped full stiff plates and a bunch others and found the partial segmented asymmetrically bending plate tested the best and felt the best, and you can actually corner in it. Once it goes on sale and more people can experience it, you’ll see it much more prominently at races…

Spot on, as a Zero drop runner these are the best racing shoes and longer distances but the nike carbon plated series are so much better for maximum speed.

I have the Vanish Tempo, the non carbon version of the shoe.
I enjoy the ride, I agree with the grip, gives a lot of confidence. Allthough the Tempo does uses different more durable material. And better laces, and more comfortable upper 😁
The sole feels really soft when walking. But it does firm up when picking up the pace. Overall I really enjoy them and do plan to buy a pair of carbons next year, I may wait for an updated version.

Nice review, thanks. I have been running in the Altra Escalante Racer exclusively for the last 3 years, I ran a marathon PB in them last year. I don't have any other shoes in rotation. I'm finding that interval sessions and tempo runs require a lot of effort, with the shoes giving very little back, even more so now, having done 1450km in my current pair. I love the zero drop, but I'm not married to the Altra shoes and feel the Vanish price point is prohibitive. So after much deliberating, I have just purchased a pair of the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3's, and I'm looking forward to seeing how my body responds on those higher-intensity runs.

I also ran exclusively in altra racers and bought endorphin speeds recently. How have you found the endorphins? They feel weird after using altra for so long, kind of unstable and cramped

I also ran exclusively in Altra Escalante Racers, too, then bought Endorphin Speed 3s for the same reasons as you. I found myself heel-striking more in the Endorphins and the toe box is quite cramped compared to the Altra shape. The ultimate result was knee pain after hard runs, although I did run 10k and HM PBs. They also just feel quite unstable (combination of higher heel to forefoot drop, soft foam, and lack of toe spread, I think).
That's why I'm here looking for a compromise - still zero drop (reduces heel striking) and Altra's wide toe box but the speed gains of carbon plate shoes. The Vanish seem to tick all those boxes (in theory), so I'll give them a try.

@@michaelcullen1111 I have also the Escalante Racers, how would you compare them to the Vanish Carbon?
      -Fit (same size)?
      -Responsiveness?
      -Durability?
      -Performance?

How flexible is it in the forefoot vs other carbon-plated shoes? Climbing hills in plated shoes stresses my arches.

I have altra lone peak 6 @ size EU42.5. For the vanish carbon should I purchase EU42.5 or EU43? Thanks

Fuelcell is not a top tier foam and this has been demonstrated in research. Neither is PwrrunPB.

Fuel cell is the best by far. Tried them all. Nothing bounces like fuel cell.

Nick, Nick, Nick.....stop bad lace experiences AND BELLUTI KNOT YOUR LACES.....Belluti knot can be cinched to incredible tightness, though it doesn't need it. Belluti knot never, ever, ever, ever comes undone.
Prove me wrong, get your worst laces, belluti knot them, cinch down....and they'll never come undone, NEVER

@@lyrilljackson just remind me, DUDE, when you're sitting at home, 10-30mins prior to run, walk, bushwalk, what's the difference between 8s and 15s, when you both completely avoid it coming undone, trip hazard AND you make it simple to undo OR FOR OTHERS TO UNDO, if indeed injured or laces become saturated/locked.
