Arthur, ironically the small farm town I grew up in, in Michigan we seen a biplane all the time. My aunt still lives in front of some giant muck fields which one of the crop dusters was a biplane for the longest time.
I grew up in Maine and just assumed most of my life that everywhere in the USA was as green as we have it. Last year I took a cross country road trip and once we hit nebraska and onward we were just like "everything is so brown..." It was crazy
Yes. It seems to be green from Eastern Kansas down to Louisiana and then across heading east. Once you leave the eastern part of the US it gets very dry very fast. I would say 2/3rds of the US is dry.
looks like Wisconsin 😄 hey arther, I use to haul bales of scrap paper out of Medina Ohio every other day I was there back in the early 2000s ! bring them up to sca tissue in neenah Wisconsin to the paper mill they make toilet paper and paper towels out of it lol !
alot of the mega farms here in Wisconsin are moving towards the big euro style tippers, the see the big chaser wagons too! I see alot of fehnt tractors and the one by me just got a new quadtrac.
So how do you move our equipment from one farm to another? Are they simply mods which are available to every farm you play? This farm could also be in the eastern Dakota's also.
Sorry I didn't get to this earlier - I was shooting weddings all weekend. Yes, you can choose and pick which mods each farm uses. As long as the mod is installed and "checked" at the "create map" screen, it will be available for purchase on you map.
hehe, many times BNSF and UP run though 70 percent of the US ;) - saw a pair of UPs on the NS line up by Vermillion Ohio today. But yeah - the TX BBQ is a good giveaway. Nice spotting!
I went down to our CSX yard earlier this year and what was right there in the yard a UP. Yeah I have heard there are talks that NS in BNSF might be standing for something else in the future. As in another merger. Which will make them equal with UP.

ah ya know i do remember seeing one now that you bring up Lima. i was stuck in Napoleon ohio at the Cambells chicken factory quite a few times... ugh that place is a nightmare... a driver flipped his truck outside the facility. had to climb up and help him out... life of a driver.. Looks beautiful but it's going to be hard to play alone because the fields are not normally Square for AI helpers. Other than that it looks and feels like home 🏡
I don't think you're using the word 'prototypical' correctly. It means "the first example of something typical." Just say 'typical' and you'll be more precise. Great video! Thanks for the preview.
Glad you enjoyed it :) - As per Google Dictionary - Prototypical is an adjective - "denoting the first, original, OR typical form of something". Cambridge dictionary gives a second definition as such - "relating to a particular type of person or thing that is seen to be very typical - he seems like a prototypical Republican". So my usage is correct as I was describing this as "very typical" of Ohio. I think my usage of this word comes from a long history of model railroad involvement, as some railroads are fantasy and others emulate what we call "prototypical operations" I.E. No modern Diesels on a WW2 era layout, or No Norfolk Southern engines on a Southern Pacific California based layout.
Realize this is an old review, but if anyone is still interested in this map, there is a mod out that makes the traffic lights functional. If you download the Upper Mississippi River Valley map facebook.com/DRMODMAP/ open the RAR archive and in the Required MODS folder is a mod called, MapAmpeln. Add that mod and the traffic lights in this map will work. AI traffic will stop at red lights and if you run a red light you will be fined. I like how that mod adds a sense of additional realism to this map. There are FS15 versions of this mod out there but so far the one in the UMRV map is the only one I found that works for FS17. If anyone knows a direct link for the FS17 version of the mod, please share.

Map creator must have been drunk when he made the fields. They don't have to be perfect squares or circles but the edges could at least be straight
