  • This lil vid features climbs in areas Rosher de La Combe, 91.1 and Cul De Chien in Fontainebleau! Font has so many amazing low grade circuits and as you can see they can present a challenge to even the most experienced climbers! Grab a pad and go explore.
    Climbs in order of appearance (lots were unknown as the circuit numbers had been updated since our guidebook was published, but if you're looking for one of these climbs they're all very close to one another and easy to find!)
    Spider-planning 6b 1:05 (Rocher de la Combe)
    Could be 4b 4:30
    2a (with traverse maybe 3a) 5:42
    Tapis 5a 6:30
    Maybe 2c 6:53
    21 3c 7:30
    22 5b 9:05
    Maybe 3b 9:24
    24 ungraded probably 3a 10:04
    23 3b 11:01
    Le Coq 6a 14:00 (Cul de Chien)
    Thanks to PJ Tom for having a good old time on the rocks! Big ups to BB! :)

      I use 'full body smear' to describe how my husband tries to climb the slab wall!

    If Annie ever did an FA near that boulder it needs to be called Coq au Wan

    I relate so much to that mantle technique. I call it the dying fish style mantle

      Lol. I call it the “penguin slide” and I’ve also heard “beached whale”. I’m a big fan of that style myself as well!

      I, as a larger gentleman, have referred to it as "Getting my tits over" or "Using the breast beef" - but after seeing someone catapult backwards and land on their spine i've avoided it!

      Yeah "do the whale" is a common term, flopping to safety

    Slab is like the only thing I can climb well, although highball or dodgy landings still shit me up.
    I think it helped going to Font when I was still pretty new to climbing and being forced to deal with having no feet holds anywhere

    Cul de chien, while having an absolutely bonkers name, is so freaking beautiful. I can't wait to go back to Font.

    VB slab has a rather different meaning in Australia hahaha. Case of Victoria Bitter beer

      No way! Haha a 'slab' is a great term for a crate of beer, deffo using that

    My fav place for just a chill day climbing has to be 95.2. Some amazing beautiful climbs- who cares the grade.
    Some of the low grade problems are slippery and nails, Marie rose and science friction spring to mind 😂😂

    everything looks SO FUN! I've only been to font once, for one day (as I'm from Australia aka the other side of the world) but would LOVe to come back and try everything!

    Another banger! I know that cave is solid enough, but those rock stacks sketch me out, I was waiting for one of them/the cave to collapse in the Bobat's video there haha

    Maybe strange question, but are there a lot of spiders in the little cracks on outside boulders? I really want to start bouldering outside but I'm afraid I'll stick my finger in some kind of scary spider's nest 😰

    • @dynosaurs
      @dynosaurs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Never seen a spider in a crack but I've seen a toad lol

      If it's a popular crag you're probably good as it's disturbed enough. If the rock is mossy and clearly not used then that's a whole other ball game.

    • @leaksfoos
      @leaksfoos 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had spiders in little holds before on boulders. I'm an arachnophobe once they get to a certain size, but you can usually avoid the hold or the problem if it happens :) Probably only been a handful of times in 10+ years of climbing though, so really nothing much to worry about.
