plural construction in english is weird: Ive heard the plural of octopus can be "octopuses", "octopi" (following the latin) or "octopodes" (following the greek). all three (but especially octopuses and octopi) are understood and widely considered correct: there's no consensus that one is strictly more correct than the others. I think ultimately whatever is "correct" in language is that which is understood between parties. so yeah you're totally right, it can be octopi. glad you liked the video :)
