omg, this is so helpful!!! My new form was linked to the old google form spreadsheet, the responses were all mix together. thanks god I found this video and manage to make a new sheet. Thank you very much my dear
Hi, I need some advice regarding the issue of syncing the Google Form and Sheet together. I realised that new responses are not reflected in the sheet and so I tried to unlink them. Then, I tried to select the response destination back to the same google sheet. But the weird thing is when I tested out a new response in the form and still there are no new responses reflected. So, may I ask what are the possible causes and ways to resolve them? Appreciate them, thank you!
I'm impressed by the way the link copes with modifications to both the Form (you can add, change the order or delete questions) and Sheet (it copes with changing the order of columns, and changing the column header title). I'd love to know how it does that, and what other changes I can safely make.
The best way to get around that problem is to use a separate sheet for analysis. Try using the ={'Sheet Name'!A:Z} (where sheet name is the name of your sheet with the answers). That will pull your survey results into a new sheet. Then you can modify the new sheet to suit your needs. Alternately, you could try the QUERY function. Here's a guide I wrote on that topic. I hope it helps! spreadsheetpoint.com/google-sheets-query-function/
Is there a way to make the Google Form itself look like an excel spreadsheet, so that the person completing the Excel Spreadsheet looking form would be submitting data that would be captured in an identical Google Sheet that collects the data as it does for any other Google Form? Please advise.
Good question! I'm not aware of a way to make Google Forms look like an Excel spreadsheet. You could build an application to collect information with an Excel-style interface, but that would really be outside of what Google Forms usually does.
Respectable Mam. Greetings. I am facing a problem and request you for help. About two weeks ago I created a google form and linked a google sheet to collected data of the submitted forms. Nine responsed were received and recorded in google sheets. Later, I handed over the control of form to another gmail account and lost my admin rights. Another gmail account started receiving the emails but google sheets did not update. Mam, do I also need to handover control of google sheet as well along with handing over control of form. Does the gmail account to whom I handed over the control also has to adjust settings himself to connect google sheet and only then, google sheet will start collecting data? I thank you for your patience and expected reply.
I tried this. Works fine. Thanks for this tutorial Now i want some formatting in that sheet but newly entered data from a form is not formatted the way I have set. Is there any other way?
Should be possible by using conditional formatting for the entire sheet/page/tab or the section of the data type you want to format. However, it would probably be considered more clean work to leave the input spreadsheet alone as a raw data tab, and link the cells you want to reformat into a different tab where you can present the data and add further operations to it. You'd do that to ensure that you don't accidentally mess with the input data from the form (though if you do mess up, you can always just delete the connected spreadsheet page, and recreate it with the original form again, since the form will always continue to exist as its own entity unaffected by the spreadsheet.)
This is good advice from @@TheHadMatters . Whenever possible, leave your raw data and use the importrange function to duplicate it into a dashboard. You can do so many fun things with the visuals without changing the actual form response sheet.
Ok I have an important question. If I designed a Google Form and used it and filled 3 forms. Then I looked at the data through Google Sheet. Now I have 100 more entries in the Excel file. I want to add them to Google Sheet so that the number of entries becomes 103 (100 entries I entered manually on Google Sheet, 3 entries I entered through Google Form). Now after that when I enter a new entry through Google Form, it records the place of entry number 4 instead of taking up a new space and entering the data in the new place 104? What is the solution.
I'd create a new file that pulls data from your Google Sheet responses and your Excel responses. That third form can then automatically update without you editing your original form-response sheet. And you can edit your third form however you want.
Hi! Thank you for reaching out! Let's try solving this issue. You can use a feature called "Multiple Choice Grid." Here's how to set it up: - Open your Google Form and click on the "Add question" button. - Choose the "Multiple choice grid" option from the list of question types. - Please give your question a title and add a brief description if you need it. - Enter the rows and columns for your grid. Each row will represent a different question, and each column will represent a different answer option. - You can customize your answer options by clicking on each cell in the grid and typing in your text. You can add more rows to the grid by clicking on the "Add row" button at the bottom of the grid. - Then click "Done" to save your question. When someone fills out your form, they can select multiple answers for each grid row. All of their responses will be captured in a single-form submission. Let us know if you need more help!
No problem! In Excel, you can add a timestap with keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+; for date, Ctrl+Shift+; for time) or the NOW() function (which updates automatically).
Mam , my problem is that - in my sheet i already have over 200 response but every time new response started from 48 th row and in that time old data shifted into next row . Please help me
Do you mean your data is shifting down with every new response? New responses usually appear on a new line. Double check the way you have your connection set up, or you may need to make a separate sheet and import new entries with a script from your existing sheet to the new sheet.
Perfect. Straight and to the point. Thank you

Very well explained.
Very well demonstrated.

Excellent, thank you. I would like to move some of the columns on the linked sheet but it wont let me since there is data in it. Any suggestions?

The new address will need edit rights to the spreadsheet, too!

Hi i want to gform data to spreadsheet and gdrive specific folders as well.
Helpful
Gracias!
Can I do it without having subscription of google forms?
You don't need a subscription to use Google forms. Just log in with your Google account and you can use it just like you use Sheets or Docs.
Thank you
Hey, so I’m trying to figure out how to put the new tab responses automatically in on the original sheet.
Thanks for How to product the same sheet but multiple user control in same sheet
exm, A column only edit Mr. A B column only edit Mr. B how to do this
You can protect your sheet in Google Sheets. Then assign permissions on who can edit what.
My question is if i edit something on sheet how will i see the update on google form
No, the form doesn't update based on the sheet. Thanks for the question!
Thanku
How can I reverse this process whereby I can have combined data entries?
Do you mean combining data from multiple surveys? If so, you could just import the data from multiple surveys into a third sheet. I hope this helps!
How to collect many responses one member in google form?
Hi! Thank you for reaching out! Let's try solving this issue.
You can use a feature called "Multiple Choice Grid." Here's how to set it up:
- Open your Google Form and click on the "Add question" button.

Are you able to collect more than 200 responses for free on google doc form ?
