Or when obi-wan and Yoda "died" and disappeared instead of leaving a corpse is because they didn't die but got pulled into the world between worlds and are immortal in that space.
@stephenstrange5663 true but let's not act like there aren't tons of contradictions in star wars anyways lol maybe Quigon was the first or one of the first "modern" jedi to figure it out so he died and his actual spirit is coming from the wbw where as Yoda and obi trained with specific guidance from Quigon so they could do it better.
This is the first time I've heard the term "Vergence Scatter". It sound like a name more official than the "World Between Worlds" mentioned by Ahsoka in her first visit. Also less cumbersome to say. (Although I misheard it as "Virgin Scatter" in this video and was only corrected by googling)
3:00 I don’t think Ahsoka just magically teleported to the world between worlds, I think Anakin pulled her in to save her from death at the bottom of that cliff. The same exact way Ezra pulled her into the world between worlds, it just makes the most sense since there was no gateway anywhere around where she fell. I like to believe Anakin was real and it was as simple as that Bc it would probably piss me and a lot of other people off to find out it was all in her head.
I thought the same thing, as he seemed to be watching over Ahsoka. He made a comment about her losing the fight badly with Baylon in episode 5, he had to have seen it to comment. In the scene before he vanishes, Anakin hears the noise from where the ocean was as Ahsoka was about to be rescued, and he looks up toward the sound just before Ahsoka also does, then he disappears. Also, the end scene of the series where we see his actual force ghost reinforced that thought for me as well, that he'd been watching over her. It's possible he didn't "pull" her in as Ezra did, but he might have opened a portal that allowed her to transfer into that realm in the ocean. I'm aware Anakin also said "I didn't expect to see you so soon" at the end of Episode 4 when they first see each other. That doesn't necessarily mean that he surprised to find her there, but could have referred to the timing or the need to intervene in that moment the way he did.
Nice! This could be used to explain why OBIWAN is so old in ANH. He would be shifted into a future adventure. He would spend in this future adventure a much longer time than the time remaining to reach ANH. It would revitalize the series in a fresh way, introducing new possibilities. Perhaps this could be used to reunite Obi-Wan and Anakin. Even after death, Anakin would still need to prove his value to the FORCE, beyond the impulsive act of throwing the Emperor into the abyss.
The WBW as an extension of the Force in the forth dimension is actually really smart. It's a great blend of metaphysics and psuedoscience like so much of Star Wars.
THats actually a brilliant way to make the world between worlds wrok and the seemingly strange decisions of force ghosts kind of like a sacred timeline with less mayhem
Sorry, the theory can't work because of the line Yoda said in ROTS saying that Qui-Gon Jinn learned "the secret of immortality," and also the line earlier in the movie saying that when people die they "return to the Force," which other media says means they lose their individuality and their life essence dissipates into the energies of the Force (unless, of course, they learned how to become a Force Ghost.) Sith have learned how to leave an "imprint" of their personalities behind, such as Darth Revan leaving behind an imprint of himself in the form of his holocron in order to instruct Darth Bane, or Darth Bane himself when he created a shade of himself to converse with Master Yoda in Bane's only canonical appearance in The Clone Wars.
Leaving an imprint behind was actually explored in the High Republic / Rebellion Era comic „crossover”, Luke found an „echo” of an old Jedi on some mystical planet. With WBW I think that there are spirits of the Jedi there - but one thing that is puzzling is that Qui-Gon left his body behind when Yoda, Obi-1 and Luke did not (with Vader it’s open to interpretation I think)
That was Not, I repeat Not the World Between Worlds, that was actually the Star Wars Afterlife, the same place, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi & Anakin Skywalker were watching Luke Skywalker celebrating on Endor at the end of Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi and where Qui-Gon Jinn was watching Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine during Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1!
I would love if they gave us a second season 2 of Obi Wan. It be awesome if Dave write it and we got flashbacks to Satine. Plus it could as well give us more understanding of the force from Qui-Gon.
The perspective&point in time all depends on the observer which is someone from the very fat future. Anyway in the comics, the Dark Woman(An'ya Kuro) can Teleport as well as pass thru walls&even turned to a Force Ghost when Vader killed her. In the novels&comics, Leah could Force Teleport too without training. Yoda is aware of the Force Teleport technique knowing that when he sent Jorj Car'das to get help from the Aing-Tii and end up learning to Force Teleport too from them. Considering that Yoda already knows about the Aing-Tii before the Battle of Yavin and maybe even Revenge of the Sith, he could had learned it from Qui Gon learning about the Aing-Tii. In the novels, Luke&his son Ben Skywalker was able to learn how to Flow Walk back in time and likely used the World between Worlds not knowing that they could pull some one inside it. IMO, if Darth Caedus and Tahiri Veila was able to observe Anakin Solo's last moments when he sacrificed himself, Anakin could had sensed their presence thru their Force bond connection like Anakin's sibling bond to Jacen and his intimate bond with his girlfriend Tahiri. Anakin Solo's powerful enough to follow that connection thru the flow walk back to the future&be a Force Ghost even after Jacen died&could had reconnected with his Force bond connection with his sister Jaina when she killed Darth Caedus. Anyway, there was speculation in the novels that Anakin Solo could had been a reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker and death is just a door way to another realm&life allowing dead Force users to reborn in normal time in the future.
I am surprised that no one has mentioned that this ‘world between worlds’ is a very similar concept to with Dan Simmons introduced in the Hyperion series.
Force ghosts/the world between worlds might be kinda like the Jedi's version of Sith holocrons. A part of their essence left behind so they can help their followers learn lost knowledge.
The World Between Worlds feels heavily inspired by the Pattern from the series of classic fantasy novels The Chronicles of Amber. In the series, the Pattern is the sentient embodiment of Order. It is in a huge cavern, luminescent and glowing, and consists of a single, intertwined curve, laid out in a spiderweb-like shape. A member of the Royal Family of Amber can walk along the Pattern to its center in order to gain the power to walk among "shadows" - possible universes. It is capable of creating a "pattern-ghost" of any who have walked its path.
Sometimes I think Charlie Hopkinson would do a better job with any sequel than Disney would. I would love to see Qui-Gon in the movies again and definitely a buddy movie between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan would be awesome. I would actually spend money to see it
Who knows about the 'world between worlds'? Knowing Disney Star Wars, pretty much every single character knows about it (even the ones we haven't yet met) - only they all did it off-screen, while we weren't watching.
Master Yoda probably visited the world between worlds too. Maybe every force ghost lives on in the world between worlds, transport your mind there right before death and your mind can live on forever.
One thing you fail to take into account is Anakin's superior link to the force compared to other Jedi, even Yoda. He was to one the Father on Mortis chose to take his place as the balance in the Force, which I think is his major role in the WBW.
I just thought a force ghost was just the people in the world between worlds presenting through the portal. Like they aren't ghosts, just projections, and they called them ghosts because from our perspective they died. But actually, at some time in the past, they traveled to the WBW and made that projection, when they were still alive
I was trying to decide whether I dislike hyperspace travelling whales or the World between Worlds the most in Star Wars, but then I saw the clip of the floating Leia and was reminded that was even worse! 🤣
I can't remeber where I read this but to my memory when a jedi dies he or she becomes one with the force. The force consists of all jedi. When a force ghost appears it is really only the force taking the shape of someone familiar. The force isn't going to take the shape of a jedi you never met. It manifests as someone who would have an impact. In a way, all force ghosts are the same ghost. They are "sentient" only because they contain the spirt of a dead jedi. It seems now a force ghost is thought of more like how we think of ghosts today... lingering spirits. I belive these jedi went to "jedi heaven" or whatever and are also part of the force.
Wasnt the obiwan part in force awakens because they first planned rey to be related to him, but changed it then like 3,4 more times till they made her the granddaughter of old palps? Sure you could say that this is why we hear obi wan call out her name, but i wouldnt since its just a coincidence.. 😅
Hmm, maybe I missed something, but in this canon the only Force Ghosts they show are the ones from the Master/Apprentice line of Yoda - Dooku (was not redeemed so is still wandering somewhere maybe) - Qui-Gon - Kenobi - Anakin. I don’t remember seeing Leia as a Force Ghost but if she is, She and Luke fall under the same line of Master/Apprentice, since Yoda trained Luke.
10:46 its confirmed though that force ghosts are only temporary. Force ghosts were an intermediate state between life and afterlife. after a certain amount of time, they would then have to move on to the Netherworld of the Force, another realm of existence. Except if they changed it again, which wouldnt be so shocking for star wars nowadays… 😅
I mean, kinda defeats the purpose of that training at all if you're going to eventually lose your retained consciousness 🤷♂️ I always thought it was dumb when I read about that in the old EU
Here’s a question that may or may not have any payoff. Was Qui-Gon able to access the World Between Worlds during the Duel with Maul? He’s shown meditating beforehand so is this him meditating enough to get to the WBWs mentally/spiritually while leaving his body in place and seeing that Obi-Wan needs to take on the responsibility of training Anakin if there’s any hope for the galaxy
I don't think Obi Wan was that aware of the future. He tried really hard to talk Luke out of going to cloud city in Empire and both he and Yoda were afraid he'd die or turn to the dark side if he faced Vader.
I think that the world between worlds is tied to how Force-sensitive people have visions or see the future. Kind of like how the Web of Life and Destiny is tied to Spidey sense (I think).
Just came up with this idea… But what if the Mortis gods were the original will of the Cosmic Force, for the longest time, and their sanctuary was in the World Between Worlds? Not sure how it would relate to the Wylls Yoda found, but do think it’s possible?
Solid theory but I don’t think it will ever be directly confirmed. I think if/when they show the WBW it will be extremely sparingly to the point where it will ask more questions than it will ever answer. Will they bring dead characters back? Will they go back in time? No, probably never. I think after its use in Rebels it will pretty much be used to add contextual weight to a moment. Pretty sure it was confirmed that Anakin saved Ahsoka via the world between worlds. It think it was in an interview with Dave Filoni and Hayden Christensen.
11:38 "on Fish Nun Island" *spits out drink* that is funnier than it has any right to be
Rey was already seeing world between worlds in when she was on the island with luke. Her TEMPTATIONS. Thanks Doug.
What if we took something complicated AND MADE IT EVEN MORE COMPLICATED!
Or when obi-wan and Yoda "died" and disappeared instead of leaving a corpse is because they didn't die but got pulled into the world between worlds and are immortal in that space.
Or they all teleported to Florida & retired 😂

What if the Rogue one squad could get saved by someone in the world between worlds!!! 👀

Well, your theory does track and I like it! To me at least it all makes sense.

Personally, I'd assumed the portal had collapsed into the sea below and she'd somehow accessed it. But Anakin pulling her across makes a lot of sense.
That moment between Luke and yoda in last Jedi was all I really needed out of that trilogy and I got that so

worth noting that there’s a canon novel coming out next year titled The Living Force, about it the Jedi Council set before The Phantom Menace.
The World between Worlds is basically the physical manifestation of the Cosmic Force.
Hope season two of obi wan explains how he got really old really fast between season 1 and A New Hope
Just hope they don’t use the WBW to do a Marvel Star Wars universe crossover….or when Disney acquires Star Trek IP ….do a Trek-Wars mashup
