    Can't wait to start the rebuild and conversion from 2wd to 4x4 on my NV4500. Thanks for all the informative videos. Ill be re-watching them in the garage during every step. You aren't kidding about the green sleeve compound. That stuff is incredible. Used it on my 12v suburban swap for the hydro brakes to hold the gear on the power steering pump. Waited a tad to long to get it pressed fully on and man was it a bear to do afterwards.

    Ok dammit…… A month ago when I got my 12 valve I was afraid of this little project but after watching you guys multiple times I amd confident enough to do it myself.

    I did something very similar on my 4500, but my splines were already worn tf out, so i used an ultra high strength high temp epoxy to fill the spline gaps and the , then flipped my stock nut around and used the shoulder to support and center the nut, coated the nut threads in that same epoxy, then heat cured the epoxy, then welded the nut to the gear. Idk how long it will last but I got 7500 miles on it so far no issues and it was cheap.

    So interesting to see, all I've done is an np435. I'd love to see a zf5 and zf6, do you do many of those?

      Zf5’s rarely, but Zf6’s come in from time to time.

      Thank you! And our NV4500 rebuild cost starts at $2650 and can increase based on damage if any exists. Check out our website at www.lrgdiesel.com

    Have you ever paired an NV4500 with a NP205 that have different input and output splines resulting in the use of a coupler which is said to interfere with the output seal on the trans? If so I'd love to know as I am in the process of swapping a 2wd NV4500 to 4wd and mating it with an NP205. Also, what is your opinion on MT90 apposed to MT85? I am told the viscosity is the only difference. Amazing video series on this by the way, seen many and this one is by far the most cut and dry and to the point!!!

      Usually when pairing with a 6 bolt NP205 you’ll use a coupler and omit the rear transmission seal, and instead use a GM style gasket or RTV between the transmission and Tcase.

      @@longrangegear Could leaving the seal uninstalled cause the trans and t-case to swap fluids?? If so I'm curious if the trans and t-case can run the same fluid. In this application gears are gears, the fluid is only particular to the carbon fiber synchro's in the trans?

      @longrangegear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@robroy5729 they would only begin to mix fluid if your tcase input seal failed. Your tcase requires a heavy gear oil, the trans requires a very light synchromesh-type oil. They should not be interchanged.

      I just did my nv4500 to a np 205 with advanced adapters
