- In this episode, it's embarkation day for our Carnival Glory cruise out of New Orleans! Join us as we catch an UberLyft back to the port, board the ship, then do a little ship exploring which all seems slightly familiar... :P
We're sailing out of New Orleans on a double cruise adventure! This time, we're on a 7-day Western Caribbean loop aboard the Carnival Glory headed to Mahogany Bay, Belize, and Cozumel. We sailed from September 29 through October 6, 2019 on this second leg of our grand back-to-back cruising adventures!

Just catching up on your Glory vlogs. Nice tour. Loved that ship. Went on her in 2014. First time to have the pleasure of Dr E as CD. We just got off the Horizon this past Sunday, my new favorite ship. Cant wait to watch the rest of the series.

New Orleans is a fabulous port
Got off the Glory in the morning and you boarded in the afternoon. We was booked to stop at Freeport, but because of the hurricane, we sailed straight from Keywest to Nassau and stopped overnight.
Oh wow! Yes, I know Carnival has recently started going back to Freeport, but that might have been later on. We've never done a Nassau overnight though, which sounds like it could be interesting!!

Me and my fiancé where on the Valor July 2019 for 5nights. We played in the game room 😊. Luv'd the ship! We had a balcony room, the room stayed cool, clean and slept great.
We will be getting married Nov 20, 2020 and going on our honeymoon Dec 13th for 7nights on Carnival Glory to Cozumel, Belize and Mahogany Bay(Honduras) 😁😁😁

I have already watched this series but I am watching again since my sailing in 3 1/2 weeks got cancelled. Now I have to wait a whole year more because due to work I could not reschedule until then.

I'm going back in time to begin this series. I got to inspect the Carnival Glory at the beginning of March. They cut the inspection short. I haven't uploaded my vlog yet. I have clients going on The Carnival Glory later this year. I look forward to watching your complete series. I finished your Mariner of the Seas series today.

We just got home; yes, we had a great time. We did the Atlantis submarine in Cozumel, we highly recommend that. And bicycle riding/ kayaking at the Bacab Eco park in Belize - the guides there are lovely, amazing, dedicated people.
Just came across your videos, they are fun. Looking at a cruise next year on the Glory. Did the room ever cool down? Ha. How well do the ACs cool the rooms. I hate being hot when I'm trying to sleep...haha
Thanks so much! Yes, the cabins can be warm on embarkation day from all the door opening, I think. But they usually cool down after a bit!! :P

True, we've done 37 cruises all told, and I think we've vlogged 29 of them. Whew!! :D
I don't know if you make the connection later in the series, but it looks like the theme is all about colors... the Ebony Cabaret, Bar Blue, Ivory lounge, Cinna-bar, Ultraviolet Arcade, and the colors on the ceiling all over changing, not only in the atrium, but I noticed it outside the arcade and in the casino.
I don't think I truly made the color connection until I got back home and edited the ship tour, and realized the name of the lobby is the "Colors Lobby". Sooooo... yeah. Oops. :P
Ebony, ivory and amber are all organic materials so maybe that was part of the theme? Or was it about exotic trade items from “far places”?
Right, I was thinking about trade... thus the Cinn-A-Bar being cinnamon. So various trade materials, spices, etc.
If only future Jay knew about the casinos...

What hotel do you suggest in new orleans?
Do y’all pick your room when booking or do y’all opt for the cruise line to pick for you?
We always pick our own cabins... there are a few locations that we would never want to be, such as extreme front or back, hah...
How would compare the overall condition of the glory versus the valor?
We enjoyed both and they were almost identical, but the Valor had the Red Frog Pub, whereas the Glory had cooler waterslides. But head-to-head, we'd go Valor right now because we do love that Red Frog option, ha ha... They're both older ships, but seem to have been maintained well, about the same!!

Embarkation day? You sign up for a time slot during your online check-in, but you can usually select as early as 11:30am or so.
Well the Peacock mentioned by Katy Perry would get you kicked off the ship if displayed in the public area of the ships lol

Sow hich did you like better Valor or Glory?
Between the two, we liked the decor of the Glory better and they had more updated waterslides, but the Valor had the Red Frog Pub and the Mongolian Wok, so it won overall, ha ha... :D
Do the arcade games take cash?
No, they use your ship card as payment.

I noticed that your door hang was on a command hook. Are the doors on Glory not magnetic???
Most of the doors on Carnival are magnetic, but they are covered with a panel that is not necessarily magnetic. We use the command hooks just to be safe. You would probably need a really strong magnet to get it to stick otherwise.
