Despite how kind of goofy the robot looks, it is genuinely intimidating when it runs at you. You just don't expect something that sounds so industrial and clunky to sprint at you
Something about how the SynthPal moves genuinely induces a sense of sheer panic, probably because of how huge and clunky it is, which makes the fact that you have to be precise with how you aim at its head add to the panic and horror, which is great.

Oooh I'm liking the premise of the game. Especially the part where you need to get close to the thing chasing you to solve certain puzzles. I don't know many other games that has that kind of mechanic
I really have to applaud the developers for Making a unique game with an interesting enemy, and also creating an interesting environment that has several ways to go around the rooms without soft lock in yourself. Like, when manly pulled that box to the door I thought that was it, I thought the game was completely broken from that point and he would need to do a hard reset, end it wasn’t until we got to the part with the lasers and the vents that I realized the developers put a lot of thought and effort into the layout of this complex to make sure that no one could soft lock themselves. I feel pretty confident in saying that they must’ve had several people attempt to soft lock them selves on purpose and made a plan around all of those experiments. I really do hope that this game gets the attention it deserves because it’s an interesting concept with unique game mechanic and clear thought and effort was put into this game. Of course, it unfortunately does the one thing that I hate that games movies and shows do, and it’s giving their project a one word title. I feel like there were a lot of unique names that they could’ve chosen for this game, like chipping in, which references the chip inside the persons head and the fact that the robot needs to assist the player to advance in the game. It’s a problem I see with a lots of games and movies, like that apartment game that Manley played a while back. It was really nice, I loved the animal crossing aesthetic, I liked the humor in it, I liked a lot of the choices made in that game, but it’s so difficult to find a review or a play through of the game when the title is just one word. I miss the good old days when titles at least had two words in them. Because then you could at least narrow down the search, but these days it feels like everyone just wants to use one vague word for their project. I love everything else about this game, I think that there’s a lot of room for this game to go, and I hope that the developers reconsider the name because that is honestly the weakest point of this project in my point of view.
There's something about the robot that's weirdly realistic. I was expecting a twist where the chip was the AI being implanted into the human's brain to control it, and the human's brain was transferred into the robot. That would explain the human's glowing eyes, and why the robot goes berserk to attack you before you can take control of it again.
Honestly, this is such a creative horror game concept; I REALLY hope that the dev makes this a full game! 😃I mean, I sadly couldn't play it myself (my anxiety and hyperawareness due to trauma could never, meaning that I'd wish because it's a good game), but I would love to see Manly take on the full version of this. Given the rise of AI in the real world and the concerns around that, it's quite a topical and interesting premise how they created a whole horror setting around that. It's such a creative twist that the main threat is also a means of progression in the game, though; leads to quite some interesting gameplay instead of just running, hiding and hoping for the best here. Like, not fully being able to avoid the monster in that sense really creates an unique sense of dread for the player, I think. I mean, if even Manly's worried about the monster coming for him, then the devs darned well did a good job here; haven't seen him that worried on a first chase in a while! And genius that they actually made the robot sprint; genuinely intimidating, because the player wouldn't expect it for a clunky 'ol machine like that. Definitely makes it feel more like a valid threat; something that we haven't seen in horror games for a while either. And it's DEFINITELY good for the horror factor here that the dev pretty much slam-dunked that robot's character design right into the uncanny valley. It's interesting how close you can sneak up behind the robot, though; that's clearly for the 'safe mode' feature, but still; the player would feel like you're risking it all for that. Like, awesome games like this with actual potential are what you get if you leave the concepting and writing of the lore up to humans instead of ChatGPT. Honestly, I'd keep an eye on this game, folks. This one's got some serious potential to become a certified hood classic in the horror community for sure, but it could frankly flop just as hard if the execution is as clunky as that robot.
