2013 RAV4, 2.2 D4D fault code P1251. The vehicle goes into limp mode. I've serviced the vehicle 3000km ago, replaced the glow plugs + injector 1, and checked the vacuum pipes (no leaks). The current symptoms are: Cold start, big puff of smoke, under load the car shudders in all gears and after driving the engine warm, it smokes white when stationary. My mechanic suggests that I take the vehicle to Toyota for them to do a diagnostic with their specific tool. Any ideas or help seeing that this is the same engine.
@carfix an update- I added injector cleaner, disconnected the battery and took the car onto the freeway. It has a slight shudder between 2-3rpm and goes away. It doesn't want go further than 120km/h
