What other "budget" chassis systems do you guys recommend? I'm curious.
KRG Bravo from what I understand is pretty solid. If you want to consider it a chassis. Some may consider it a stock.

@@rorschachguy2055 Not sure what Marcus uses, but you could look into Eberlestock and Mystery Ranch brands. You can carry rifles with most of their packs.

Just bought one myself for a Howa barreled action (in .308). I was impressed with it immediately out of the box. Very pleased that I didn't spend $100 or more for a fancy model. I think the Oryx will suit me just fine.
Adjustment wheels are now available from MDT. That's good because I need to remove the cheek piece to get my bolt out and the Allen screws were a pain.
Also the butt hook now has an M-Lok slot machined in the bottom allowing a bag rider to be easily fitted, another good improvement.

@@johnnyescondido7430 High value scope. $300 fixed 10x is very durable and offers a lot of bang for the buck. Unfortunately, they've been out of stock for some time.
I saw one of these at the last match I attended. Pretty awesome for the money. I think I might get one myself.... It's either the Oryx or the MDT LSS-XL Gen 2. Everything else pales in comparison if you ask me....

The MDT XRS chassis looks pretty nice too. A bit more expensive than the Orix but it has more that McMillan look I like. Waiting for Black Friday sale to get it at 40% off.

I have a ruger american predator in 223 it's got ar mags but I don't feel that the cut in the bolt would allow for aics mags
my question is what performance improvements did you see
I've had a Savage Axis II 6.5CM in one for the last couple years. The first thing I noticed was that my groups shrank once I got rid of the flexible factory stock. The added weight (granted it's not much) reduced the recoil noticably. The adjustable cheek riser and LOP made the rifle more ergonomic which made my position more consistent.
All together my setup probably ran around 1k for a rifle that I'm confident could perform at 1k.

Will the oryx chassis work with Bergara rifles? The b-14 ridge in 300 wm? They have the rem 700 footprint. And I was just curious before pulling the trigger on one. Thanks 👍✌️
My understanding is, yes they will. Just to be safe, you should probably call MDT anyway. Better safe than sorry.
Greetings. Great video! I'm building a Howa 1500 in 6.5 Grendel. Would you recommend the Oryx chassis, or the MDT LSS Gen2? Realizing the Oryx is more budget friendly (~$200-225 cheaper than an LSS Gen2 buildout). And ~1-1 1/2 lbs.heavier overall (from my calculations). I'm just trying to justify if the extra money is really worth it when the Oryx only about a pound heavier. It doesn't seem a real sacrifice from the LSS to the Oryx. Some would like a bit heavier for bench/competition shooting.

I was wondering, how do these sorts of systems compare to traditional precision stocks like HS Precision stocks.
I just installed one on a Savage 12FV in 6.5 Creedmoor. A Magpul P-Mag would not lock into place. Had to trim about 0.9” from the magazine release lever. Reinstalling the lever took at least an hour of frustration. Had to create a temporary pin from a coat hanger. Chassis shipped missing screws for cheek rest. The “instructions” failed to mention the use of a spacer/washer with the front action screw. No telephone customer service - Email only.

Steve I just ordered one of these for my Savage 12FV in 6.5 creedmoor. I'm hoping I have better luck with mine but will report back once it arrives. Were they willing to do anything to correct your problem?
Jesse F, they sent the screws right away. I didn’t ask them to fix the magazine issue as they would have to redesign and re-manufacture the product. I thought modifying the chassis was less trouble than shipping it back for a refund. It’s possible that a different brand of magazine might fit better but I already owned the Magpul. I hope your experience is better than mine. In the end, I really like the chassis. Also, please note that the stock will not fit on a rear bag very well. I added an aftermarket bag rider.
Using Facebook Messenger I talked rapidly with them. Might consider this option in the future, just saying.

I Have the Oryx Chassis On A Tikka Tac..Nice Chassis. Only complaint is they don't offer a Bag Rider for it. Looking fabricate something It.

Steve Damalas You could try these guys. Tyler, the owner, runs a machine shop and does a lot of 3-D printing. Tell him what you’re looking for, and he might be able to come up with something.

does the raised edge of the buttstock rear get in the way of pushing a cleaning rod through the barrel? I understand the cheek riser can be removed but does the cleaning rod bend when it hits the read raised edge? although one can use a brass jab and a fiberglass rod I am still concerned about the rod not entering parallel to the barrel and possibly damaging the lands. any experience with cleaning the barrel so far? also what size cleaning rod do you use?
You really should be using a good bore guide. That will insure you don't damage the lands. Plum hollow has good ones.

It's a solid piece of ammonium so yeah, if you could get the animal to hold still long enough you could bludgeon the shit out of it with this chassis but wouldn't it be easier to mount a barreled action on it and just shoot the thing?
