I’m not going to lie, when I saw the first video I was super skeptical of hypnosis. I think it’s honestly because of the overdone stage-trickery stereotype that is often portrayed. After watching your video I did a lot of research on it and realized what it’s really about. I think you explained this perfectly at the end. I really think you were so easily hypnotized because you were not only very willing, but because you are so in touch with the creative side of your brain. You frequently let your mind slip into other realities, such as Miranda, so I feel like you were really successful on your first try because of all of that! Super cool!
I actually didn't watch the first video until now because from the thumbnail and title I thought it would perpetuate the stereotype you mentioned. Hypnotherapy is actually an incredibly valuable tool for self-improvement and unlike Colleen says, you can totally use it on your own and for free. There are lots of self-hypnosis tracks even here on youtube that are not only perfectly safe but really good in quality.
I used to bite the skin around my fingers (making them irritated and red) and it was really bad for me. One day, my mom suggested hypnotherapy and my mind immediately FREAKED OUT. My thoughts instantly went to someone else having complete control over my actions, I couldn't do anything, and whatever they did was permanent. Mostly what I was thinking was someone could tell me to do anything, and whatever it was would be permanent. Like if someone told me to kill someone that I would do it, because my mind would force me to. I'm mostly scared of the hypnotists themselves. (I hope that doesn't sound rude, it's just their power in my head scares me). Edit: I said "used to" because I eventually broke the habit. I just kept telling myself not to, and it worked. :)
my mom used to have panic attacks nearly any time she were in a car for years. she did hypnotherapy a few months ago to help with her anxiety and she hasn't had a panic attack or any other driving anxiety since!

I LOVE how your sisters hands go up to shield herself from the perceived voodoo the second your head went down. Granted it wasn't bad juju it goes to show that she's spiritually intuitive and on guard and I think that's a safe disposition.

I’ve had hypnotherapy 4 times and it doesn’t feel like what you would expect. It just feels like you’re really, really relaxed and it’s actually really nice
I just wanted to give a real life example of hypnotism helping people; my grandma was hypnotized to stop smoking. But as Colleen said in the video, she was willing to quit. She had to let herself go into the state. My aunt tried it years later and was mad that it didn't work. But she wasn't willing to quit, so obviously it didn't work.
I read a lot of posts about people saying it takes them forever to fall asleep...Hypnosis has nothing to do with falling asleep. It's an altered state of mind, but you don't "fall asleep". You are fully coherent and cognitively aware the entire time. It's just dream-like state like Colleen said. When you come out of hypnosis, it can definitely feel like you are waking up, depending on how deep in trance you were.
You know, I think that Colleen feels all that positive things after the hypnosis because he told her that everything will be fine, that she will be happy, and will remember everything. But what could have happened if he didn't?
